apologies in advance for the length, bra sizing and fit is something i'm very passionate about.
so while you're partly correct in your assessment that losing weight can make some pieces of clothing fit better, bras are more complicated than that. additionally, losing weight takes 2-4x as long as gaining it and women still need bras to wear during that process, if they choose to go through it.
for a bra to fit correctly and provide support you need to have the correct band and cup size, the band is especially important since that's where the majority of the support comes from! bra manufacturers in the USA have massive gaps in their size range that affect customers of every size.
most american brands don't make band sizes smaller than 34, but there are tons of women who need a 32 or 30 size band! some even smaller. that limited band size range leaves women who need smaller bands either swimming in oversized ill-fitting bras (receiving zero support for their breasts), only wearing sport bras, or buying only expensive foreign brands. many american brands also do not make band sizes larger than 40, but in a country with an obesity rate nearing 50% this leaves many customers with an unfulfilled need. there are some specialty american brands that make bras for customers with bands larger than 40, but they are all practical designs with no aesthetic flair and don't typically include wired options at all. this leaves a significant gap for larger customers who want to wear cute bras! that gap is what nyahallo is proposing to fill.
american brands also don't tend to make cup sizes larger than D, but many women (including those with smaller band needs) need cup sizes as large as H. while these sizes seem large they are meaningless without a band size, since cup size is relative to band size. if you overlay a 32G bra with a 36G bra you'll clearly see the cups are not the same size (the 36G is larger), if you want the same cup size as a 32G in a 36 band you have to go down cup sizes and, depending on brand, that'd be a 36DD or 36E. a woman's cup size need is going to vary between height, weight, age, and pregnancy status.
wearing ill fitting bras can lead to health issues like back and shoulder pain, caused by the weight of the breasts being distributed into the shoulders from wearing bras with too large of a band. as i mentioned earlier the majority of support from a bra should come from the band, so having a diverse size range is paramount to providing customers with the correct fit and preventing unnecessary shoulder and back pain. many american brands do not do this, and instead teach sales associates at stores to fit customers into the stock they provide (victoria's secret is particularly well known for this) since they value making a sale over providing a good fit for their customers. this profit over service mindset is what has created this gap and why it doesn't tend to get fulfilled by large companies. once again, this is the gap nyahallo is proposing to fill and i think it will be quite successful, especially if they can manage a good price point.
