Today, in celebration of #WorldEarthDay, we reiterated our commitment to planting 1 million trees by 2027 — a pledge rooted in hope and growing a greener future.
This initiative supports our ESG goals and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals — especially Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and Goal 13 (Climate Action).
By promoting green spaces, enhancing biodiversity, and boosting climate resilience, we're taking real action for people and the planet.

Early this morning, I had the honor of Flagging Off the Kampala to Hulu Road Safety Walk led by #JoeWalker.
The incredible 340km walk for road safety awareness shows @Akeda4's dedication to saving lives on our roads and is truly inspiring!
Every step on this walk is a reminder that safer roads begin with us—responsible driving, pedestrian safety, and adherence to traffic rules.
Let’s support this noble cause and commit to making our roads safer for all!

QUOTE: “I extend my appreciation to Joe Walker @Akeda4 and the entire team for their dedication to raising awareness on road safety.
As Government, we remain steadfast in our commitment to collaborating with stakeholders like you to make our roads safer for all.
Together, we must champion safe practices, enforce regulations and promote awareness to prevent accidents and save lives,” — Hon. Fred Byamukama, the State Minister for Works & Transport [Transport] flagging off the #JoeWalker Kampala to Gulu Road Safety Walk at Sheraton Hotel Kampala Grounds this morning.
This morning before 6am, I joined my brother @Akeda4 aka Joe Walker as he embarked on his 340km walk to Gulu City highlighting road safety. At @UNOC_UG we are committed to safety on the roads and this walk is a worthwhile opportunity to support the team. Godspeed Joe Walker and enjoy my part of the country, Northern Uganda. Apwoyo matek 🙏🏿

KAMPALA TO GULU::Thank you all for your support, #JoeWalker and the walkers have kicked off a 340km road safety walk.
In 2024, Uganda lost 5,144 people to road crashes, that’s more than 14 lost to avoidable death. Majority were pedestrians and cyclists.
We can do better.
We hope to engage with road side communities, schools, motorists, enforcement officers, leaders and local authorities on how we can make our roads safe and save lives.
Is it the roads, the users or the vehicles?
Follow us here and share your views as we share what we find out.
We are now in Kawempe for a quick breakfast.
