It's interesting to see cells getting bigger for obvious benefits. In 10 years time, are we gonna see ESS cells to be the same size as the current EV packs 😂. (Don't think so) What do you think is the optimal size for ESS battery cells?

Q4 Battery Energy Stationary Storage Quarterly Outlook
Highlights presentation available now
For the release of our Q4 BESS Quarterly outlook, @RhoMoIola and the wider BESS team have produced a highlights presentation with key insights and analysis.
In this report, we highlight 20 battery manufacturers that are producing, or close to producing, 310+Ah battery cells for stationary storage. We expect the BESS industry to begin transitioning to 310+Ah cells on a commercial scale in Q1 2024, replacing the current 280Ah cells.
Large format battery cells are an incremental step to reduce cost and enhance performance. Beyond this, the 5xxAh cell is much larger and is expected to be the mainstream format for the next-generation BESS products. EVE Energy is currently leading the field, with its 560Ah cell due to be delivered in Q2 2024.

EV sales in October reached 1.3 million, with China setting a new all time high. 📈📈
Lots of talk of slow down, but YTD EV sales show strong growth across all regions, and larger pack sizes and more BEVs mean battery demand growth is even stronger.

Capchem's Poland plant received a 9-year off-take that worth around EUR1.1 billion from a "EV battery subsidiary of a German OEM".
My bet is VW's PowerCo cause it fits the profile. What do you think?

“In the European Union, the main driver for EV adoption has been from the OEM side because they're effectively forced to sell these vehicles via the CO2 regulations that are in place. In the UK there have been some subsidies over the last couple of years but what’s really driven uptake is the structure of the tax system around buying vehicles for fleets and commercial units”

Samsung SDI confirmed again that the company aims to mass-produce LFP batteries in 2026 in its Q3 earning call. But isn't it a bit too late to the game?
Thoughts from EVE Q3 earning call,
1) Q1-Q3, EV battery wholesales 20GWh, ESS battery wholesales 18GWh.
2) EVE is trying to open up the market for its 46xx cylindrical products. Its giant 560Ah cell for ESS is expected to be launched end of 2024.
