Take time today to reflect about all the people in your life that have helped you grow personally and professionally. Re-celebrate in your mind some of the wonderful things that have happened. Are u making time in your life to give to others without expecting anything in return?
When selecting team members, look for talented, unselfish people who have a teachable spirit and demonstrate the drive, will, and courage to stay committed and succeed, regardless of the challenge. There is no limit to what can be accomplished with people with these qualities.
Athletes...are you open to feedback and constructive criticism? Listen intently to your coaches. Don’t take criticism personally. Have an open mind. Feedback is critical so that you can improve every day.
Courage is the backbone of leadership. Leaders of character face their fears and have the courage to do the right thing despite opposition. Their behaviors are aligned with their core values.
Coaches can play such a significant role in an athlete’s life. Through sport, coaches teach valuable skills such as respect, trust, commitment, confidence, teamwork, & resilience. Most importantly, coaches can teach athletes how to transfer them into school, family life & work.
At every stage of a season, situations occur that have an enormous impact on the moods & feelings of team members. How coaches read & interpret these feelings will ultimately impact behaviors & team performance. Great coaches read their team’s “pulse” & respond accordingly.
High-performers develop skills that help them face their fears and willingly push through mental and physical discomfort because they know it will help grow their self-belief and self-confidence.
There is no “should” there is only “is”. I’m stunned with people’s ability to judge others while not putting in the work, focus on you.
“That should be me” is a scary bad statement - less envy more work
