aku ingat masa tu parents keluar outstation, kena panggil kawan2 datang sleepover kat rumah, semua tidur rapat2, semua taknak tido tengah. takde sorang pun berlagak berani hahahah. masa ni kawan2 memang dependable and boleh diharap. @romyjarr pun ada temankan masa ni.
So yesterday, Ali Olwan, Noor Rawabdeh, Yazan Al-Arab, and Mo Abualnadi all started the match vs Switzerland, battling against Granit Xhaka, Forest's Dan Ndoye, and Manuel Akanji, as well as Manzambi who played the full Europa final (vs Aston Villa) last week in Istanbul.
In 4 weeks' time, they'll all start the match against Enzo Fernandez, Alexis MacAllister, Julian Alvarez, and Messi.
What has Selangor benefited from them, and how have they benefited from Selangor over the last 4 years? That's the question.
So Arteta will play against his former club today. I still remember Arteta playing a full season with PSG in midfield behind Ronaldinho...starting almost all Ligue 1 matches for PSG. One of their important players.
But somehow Camacho didn't fancy him for the Spanish NT.
Had an engaging conversation with a friend here in London who's a big West Ham fan...has been supporting West Ham since Paul Ince was playing there pre-Alex Ferguson era, while his father was already a West Ham fanatic during Sir Geoff Hurst and Sir Bobby Moore era.
He said going down to the lower league could be catastrophic for a historic club like West Ham in this modern era. Back in 2012 and before, relegation wasn't that severe as the football ecosystem was very different from today. Back then clubs could easily go back up straight the next season. Today it is much more competitive.. where patience is almost non-existent.
Now that West Ham is relegated, the C'ship is a very, very difficult league to get out of from. Players West Ham never wanted to sell may now have to be sold, while players they previously wanted to get rid of now suddenly become the most experienced players they really need to keep. Also have to rely heavily on many academy players.
He disagreed with the idea that relegation could trigger the much-needed cleanout in the boardroom & administration due to mismanagement and outdated ways of running the club. His view was that a cleanout should happen while you're still on top and not when you're already down there.. bcoz once you're relegated, the whole environment changes and you may no longer be in a position to carry out a rebuild. Could get stuck there for many, many years. So don't even think abt going down at all...could become a permanent trap. Be very careful what you wish for.
I thought Selangor played exactly how they usually play in the Malaysia Super League...same style, same intensity, same threats, and typically looked dangerous throughout. But against Buriram, S'gor just couldn't get the ball into the net no matter how much it felt Buriram was penetrable at times.
Against every other team in the MSL (except against JDT), it usually feels like S'gor will eventually score somehow...there are always small gaps where S'gor will eventually exploit. But against Buriram, those little gaps just weren't there. All the small, tiny little gaps were covered.
That's why Buriram has managed to win the Thai league almost every year and consistently do well in the ACLE. They've mastered all the small details in defending and are very disciplined in covering all the small spaces from their midfield. Most teams in the MSL don't really do that properly..and only JDT has mastered it.
It also shows Buriram is a very well-coached squad, with much much better preparation, especially during preseason. They also rarely get their import signings wrong, and if certain imports don't gel, they move them on quickly where some of those players end up doing well elsewhere afterwards.
There's a lot we can learn from their whole operating model I think.
So imagine Man City or Liverpool got themselves into the Carabao Cup Final but failing to qualify for any European competition next season... not even Conference. Would that be considered a failed season or something still to be proud of LOL? They'd most probably end up having a fire sale - losing many existing stars and becoming less appealing for new top players to join.
How disappointing you are this time, Selangor FC.
So Selangor has beaten 2 different Vietnamese clubs in pretty comfortable fashion.. one being the defending V.League champion, and the other the champion-elect of the current season. That only tells me we do actually have a strong squad this season but somehow not fulfilling its true potential.
It'd feel really really odd if we can't enter any AFC competition next season. That'd be wildly strange.
As an anak jati of Kuala Lumpur (IC14), come on KL City..
do my beloved football club a bit of a favour please... For once la.
Also we gotta stop being a beban & bebal at the same time.
Aku banyak kali dah cakap, ini soal budaya kepenyokongan, bukan soal game tak cantik, asyik kalah, dah tahu siapa menang dsbnya, tapi soal budaya, soal pemikiran
Cuma bila cakap berkenaan ni dia jadi payah sebab isu ni terkena batang hidung masing², so susah org nak terima
Itulah bezanya pembudayaan bolasepak. It's all abt the emotional bond betw the fanbase which represents the community and the football club. The local-based club is their true passion which is the closest thing to their heart after their loved ones. They eat, sleep, and work while thinking abt their club, the connection betw them & the club is symbiotic, their r/ship with the club is a deep emotional part of their life & identity regardless of the fans' ages. Legacy & history are their pride, and they'll do everything to preserve and immortalize those connections.
Al-Fatihah.
Al-Fatihah.
What's there to be proud of? The fact that a club formed in the Malaysian league has to fill the team with 100% foreign-grown players, who have never gone through the Malaysian education curriculum (KBSR/KBSM, KSSR/KSSM) and Malaysian lifestyle environment since birth, and all come from far more mature football schooling systems. All these only show something seriously flawed and a lack of seriousness in the Malaysian football structure and foundation, and sports in general, including food/dietary habits, working culture, etc. So yeah, what's there to take pride in? The issue is far deeper.
Terima kasih Johor Darul Ta'zim, kerana menunjukkan kepada kami semua bahawa Malaysia mampu bermimpi sebesar ini.
Terima kasih kerana berjuang membawa nama Malaysia ke pentas terbesar Asia, mengangkat martabat bola sepak kita.

Looks like Ekitike's out for a year now. Definitely missing the World Cup with France. But honestly, France attack is still mad - Mbappe, Doue, Olise, Ousmane Dembele, Marcus Thuram… with Cherki behind. Fuhhh...scary. World champion material still.
TB to When Presnel Kimpembe suffered an Achilles tendon rupture, which kept him out of action for over 400 days.
The photo showed the back of his foot stitched up. 😬🇫🇷
Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike has been diagnosed with a similar injury.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, it was a life-threatening factor that drove office policies (both public & private sectors) to work remotely/WFH. Everybody was afraid to go out bcoz going out meant ppl were at risk of contracting the virus (pre-vaccination)..and could die.
The setting is very different now. The driver now is primarily efficiency & cost of living...which is a much weaker and less urgent motivator.
Wait until the price of nasi ayam (from a normal makcik stall) rises from RM8 per plate standard --> RM12; at that time, the feeling would be different, as ppl would feel it directly in the wallets every single day.
Traffic in the Klang Valley remained heavily congested this morning despite WFH arrangements for 200,000 civil servants taking effect today.
The Malaysian Highway Authority told Bernama that traffic began slowing around 7am, with no significant change from a normal working day.

This is an excellent example of why PES still rocks today. PES'99 is a retro 1998/1999 season patch layered onto PES2021. Have been playing it for the last 2 months...loveee it. Brings back nostalgia from the football era I grew up watching.
PES ‘99 is OUT NOW
Available via Patreon for $14
Remember, it’s a patch for efootball PES 2021, but we have some additional help on how to install and set it up (even maybe how to get hold of PES 2021) all via our discord channel
