@DisabledCouple Don't have to ask anyone to start a business vs getting hired by a company for a job.

Also, dealing with ODSP when you're self-employed is confusing. The rules and procedures are not clear even for those working at ODSP.

@DisabledCouple Very interesting question. Maybe need to break down the concept of "work". Employment vs self employment present different challenges in the context of working from home. Self employment offers more flexibility but less income predictability.

Folks w disabilities should NEVER have to protest for liveable income, let alone during a pandemic! For years advocates have pushed for ODSP that allows ppl to escape poverty, and for months fed & prov govs have provided only paltry “top-ups” for relief. This is Ontario’s shame.

When ppl return to work they need to be aware of when they become financially ineligible for #CERB. My son was off work for all of May, he returned yesterday. I phoned @ServiceCanada_E & found out he has to repay $2500 ($2000 upfront payment + $500 for 1st wk of June). #ODSP #OW

Compensation awards for loss of past income is one example where income is attributed to previous months. A CPP-Disability retro payment is another.

@DisabledCouple @OnlyMinnieXxX @KalinDokis @The280Times Case workers don't always get things right. Their managers don't always get thing right. This is one thing that I'd want to see an actual ODSP policy statement on. Or some sort of formal statement from ODSP
