Immensely proud to join labor leaders from across the region and our community this morning in solidarity with @UAW@uawregion6 as they strike for better pay, benefits and protections!
These workers are the backbone of the auto industry. They deserve a fair contract.
I am running for re-election as your mayor!
We have accomplished much this first term, but much work remains. I know I cannot do this alone, I am counting on your support to continue delivering #ResultsForRiverside.

Today, let's celebrate the unconditional love and companionship that our pets bring into our lives every single day. ๐พ #NationalPetDay
And yes all my cats are named after US Presidents ๐
Happy National Pet Day to all our furry companions!
Pets have always been central to our family: from our dog Bobby to our cats Herbie (Herbert Hoover), Richie (Richard Nixon), Billie (Bill Clinton), and Jerry (Gerald Ford) โ to our chickens Lady Bird and Abby.
I was happy to join friends, colleagues and community in celebrating and honoring the legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr at the 28th Annual MLK Walkathon. Thank you to the African American Historical Society for putting together this wonderful event!
With today's news, I'm proud to reaffirm my intention to run for the open seat in the 58th Assembly District in 2024. I am humbled by the support and encouragement weโve received over the past two weeks to represent our communities and my hometown.
Thank you Brian! Community organizers like you and folks from @SierraClubCA and @UCR_Sustain played a critical role in passing this ordinance.
The Riverside community is all-in on climate action!
The City is exploring an all-electric building code change to eliminate fossil fuel sources in new construction that would be effective January 1, 2023 โ and we want your input!
Join us for a series of community meetings starting August 31 from 6-7:30pm: https://t.co/6stmJF16IW
Today gave me hope in our community and our willingness to come together to find solutions to hairy problems. Kudos to all and Iโm hopeful we will continue to bring this energy to other challenges our City and region faces.
We heard you. Today the City Council enacted a full-stop pause on the downtown public parking program. After hearing from hours of in person testimonials from business owners, employees and residents that love Riverside and our downtown โ we are going back to the drawing board.
I firmly believe that we can and must satisfy our goal of maintaining fiscal solvency without overburdening our local small businesses, employees and residents.
Iโll be straight with you -- earlier this year we made a mistake.
With the goal of providing funding for long overdue infrastructure upgrades and to prevent a general fund subsidy, the City Council increase in parking rates and hours of enforcement in the Downtown area.
Tomorrow, the City Council will be discussing amendments that would provide discounted rates for downtown employees and waive parking fees for special events. While this is a step in the right direction, we can do more to roll back this program.
2 years later and weโre now rolling out the RESTART Repayment Program to give residents and businesses a flexible and stress-free way to become current on their bill and move forward without this weight on their shoulders.
Back in March 2020, we were uncertain about everything โ except for one thing: COVID-19 would have a tremendous and painful economic impact on Riversiders.
Knowing this fact, I brought forward an item with Councilwoman Plascencia and former Councilman Melendrez to stop the City from shutting off utility services based off of nonpayment.
