For a little country, with a small combined population, we certainly punch wayabove our weight. Credit to @GolfIreland_ ,our amateur body, as we are all products of their efforts & work ☘️☘️☘️
Ever hear about them talk about player welfare and protecting the players? Wer else would you see a quarter final, semi final and final played within a week only in Tyrone ladies ‘junior’ ? @TyroneGAALive@teamtalkmagLIVE@UlsterGAA
The most underrated part of Rory’s career is a longevity illustrated by the fact that in August 2014, the week before the PGA at Valhalla, as the No. 2 player in the world, he beat Sergio at Firestone … and then 10 years later, the week before the PGA at Valhalla, as the No. 2 player in the world, he’s beating Xander at Quail Hollow.
Two great players, one from the generation ahead of him, one from the generation behind. He’s doing the same thing to them *10 years* apart. And that entire time, he’s never been outside the top 20 in the world.
Not quite Phil’s longevity yet, but to be that good for that long in a sport that grinds up even the greats like golf does is truly extraordinary.
In 2006, just under 20 THOUSAND people went to Casement Pk to watch Armagh & Tyrone hammer out a pre-season game.
I wanted to watch the full game back, but unfortunately there is nothing online.
The tapes of the game were lost. Untraceable.
Until now.
