My mother and I cannot believe that y’all let the same white man who used to convince people to eat bull testicles and cockroaches on live TV for the chance to win a brand new Chevy Tahoe convince you that selling out your fellow countrymen was the way to go.
🔴Statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health:
The Ministry of Public Health condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the barbaric crime committed by the Israeli enemy in burning down the Mays al-Jabal Governmental Hospital—an act constituting a flagrant and brutal assault.
This public healthcare facility—which the Ministry had diligently refurbished and equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology to serve as a lifeline and a safe haven for displaced residents and those steadfastly remaining in border areas—is now facing systematic destruction that reveals a profound moral bankruptcy and deep-seated criminality. The occupation forces did not merely occupy the facility previously and convert it into a military barracks; they have now gone so far as to burn it down completely, thereby depriving the people of the South of their most basic human rights to medical treatment and healthcare.
The Ministry asserts that targeting medical institutions and healthcare personnel constitutes a full-fledged war crime and a blatant violation of international conventions. It calls upon the international community, the World Health Organization, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to immediately break their suspicious silence and hold the occupation accountable for its repeated crimes against Lebanon’s health sector. Furthermore, the Ministry emphasizes that these criminal acts will not break the people's resolve; the Ministry remains committed to fulfilling its national and humanitarian duty and supporting the people of the South with all available resources, regardless of the sacrifices required.
this was entirely predictable, which is why 1000s of ppl on here and elsewhere said that rising gas prices would trigger intense backlash. people who live in the imperial core will not be moved until it affects them financially or existentially, that’s just historical materialism
🔴 NEW: Palestinian-American journalist and Drop Site contributor Naqaa Hamed is being held in Hasharon, a temporary detention facility in central Israel, and is expected to be transferred to Damon Prison, located near Haifa where most Palestinian female prisoners are held.
🔸 Hamed’s lawyer, Khaled Mahajneh, said during Thursday’s military court session, she was accused of incitement against Israeli settlers and the army, communicating with the enemy, and cooperating with the enemy.
🔸 Mahajneh argued in the session that Hamed was a professional journalist and her arrest came solely because of a campaign targeting her by Israeli settlers. He told Drop Site “the whole case is related to her journalistic work.” The military court ruled to extend her detention by six days to complete their “investigation.” Mahajneh submitted an appeal.
🔸 The Committee to Protect Journalists condemned Hamed’s detention, saying “Israeli authorities should immediately free Hamed and publicly clarify the legal basis for her detention. Unsubstantiated espionage allegations must not be used to criminalize journalism, and the systemic harassment and intimidation targeting her work in the occupied West Bank must end."
🔸 Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen called for her immediate release, saying in a post, “Another American citizen wrongfully detained by the Israeli govt.”
I need everyone to understand that if this had been done, for example, by Iranian forces to an Iranian, the US press would have made this person an international mega celebrity by now
ICE blinded me for life. My skull is shattered beyond repair - I can't even sneeze or cough without risking death.
They pulled a nickel-sized plastic chunk from my eye, with metal, glass and plastic still lodged behind it. It's a miracle I survived.

Public schools are Federally *required* to educate ALL children. Private schools are not. It’s why R*publicans have been destroying the public school system.
Did we just forget the U.S carpet bombed Laos and Cambodia, deployed agent orange in Vietnam, dropped 2 nukes on Japan, supported Iraq’s invasion of Iran, and toppled countless governments across the world in favor of brutal dictators.
Every day I wake up a little more worried for what the future brings but then I remember what our nation has done to Cuba, Gaza, and countless others and can’t help but feel like our pain will bring about a better future for them and maybe that’s worth it, idk.
BREAKING: Saudi Aramco has told European oil refiners they will receive no crude oil at all next month, with the cut applying to every single European customer on long-term contracts, after the attacks that shut the East-West pipeline, per Bloomberg.
This confirms Tuesday's initial reports that Aramco had scrapped every remaining September cargo to Europe with no Saudi crude until November. The world's largest crude oil exporter is out of the European market for a full month, on term contracts that normally deliver every month, while it bids for diesel in that same market.
🇨🇺 Washington insiders are positioning themselves to take over business inside Cuba
Trump- and Rubio-linked investors, lobbyists and political allies jockeying for access to Cuban assets as foreign companies are forced out amid Washington's maximum pressure campaign. Reporting from Ed Augustin and Lee Schlenker for The Guardian points to potential deals involving mining, hotels, shipping, humanitarian aid and other sectors, while foreign companies pushed out by US sanctions leave openings for US-linked investors and businesses.
“If I had done during the Biden administration what Trump’s friends have done now, I’d have been put in jail,” said a person with several decades of experience in Cuba policy.
Meanwhile, Washington continues to intensify sanctions aimed at forcing political change in Cuba, with Rubio announcing a new wave of sanctions on Thursday targeting state-run enterprises, military enterprises and officials. The latest sanctions come as a new report from Augustin for the New York Times reveals thousands of shipping containers—filled with food, medicine and humanitarian aid—destined for Cuba are stranded throughout the Caribbean as shipping companies aim to avoid U.S. sanctions.
The first child victim of the pager attack, Muhammad Bilal Kanj, was killed on our street in Chiyeh. When I went to the funeral in Dahye, the second wave hit; a walkie-talkie exploded just feet away.
There were children in attendance, clutching his photo as they walked in a single file near the cemetary.
When the second wave hit—and I'll never forget this—someone in the crowd of mourners cried out "not even the devil would come up with such brutality."
The last thing I remember that day is watching a young woman, her hands covered in blood, eyes wide open, and a look of shock and horror etched across her face.
BREAKING: Iran has struck an oil tanker in the US-backed southern Omani corridor of the Strait of Hormuz, while transiting under US escort, per UKMTO.
This comes shortly after anti-ship ballistic missile launches from southern Iran toward the Strait with 3 US Air Force tankers overhead.
BREAKING: For the first time since the Iran war began, JPMorgan says it no longer has a baseline view on oil, writing "we simply don't know how to model the endgame," and that the assumption that the Middle East disruptions are temporary is "becoming increasingly difficult to sustain," per JPMorgan Global Research.
The bank says it had assumed there were economic red lines the Trump administration would be unwilling to cross, and that six months later "many of those lines have been crossed, yet the exit strategy is less clear, not more."
Chevron's CEO said this week the Great fuel crisis has officially arrived, as Trump officials continue to claim the disruption temporary.
