Pope Leo XIV represents everything that President Trump is not—an overwhelmingly popular, humble, gracious, and kind leader who is devoted to serving God and others without fear or favor. As Catholics, we are taught that all of us are created in the image of God. We are instructed to strive for peace and to recognize the dignity of all people.
The idea that Donald Trump would instead choose to lash out at the pope, claim credit for his elevation, and call him ‘weak,’ is both offensive and morally repugnant. Pope Leo continues to lead by example, reaffirming that he is not afraid of the Trump administration and will continue to speak out about the values found in Scripture.
I call on all Republicans to condemn Trump’s divisive words and hateful actions.
Those who pray are aware of their own limitations; they do not kill or threaten with death. Instead, death enslaves those who have turned their backs on the living God, turning themselves and their own power into a mute, blind and deaf idol (Ps 115:4–8), to which they sacrifice every value, demanding that the whole world bend its knee. Enough of the idolatry of self and money! Enough of the display of power! Enough of war! True strength is shown in serving life. #Peace
Can we truly start our lives over again? Yes! The Lord’s response, so full of love, fills our hearts with hope. No matter how weighed down we are by pain or sin: the crucified One carries all these burdens with us and for us. No matter how discouraged we are by our own weaknesses: it is precisely then that God manifests His strength, the God who has raised Christ from the dead in order to give life to the world. Each one of us can experience the freedom of new life that comes from faith in the Redeemer. #ApostolicJourney #Algeria https://t.co/jXvstS86NB
🇻🇦🇩🇿 To every Christian supporting Israel's "right" to colonize Palestinian land :
Today in Algeria, a nation that endured 132 years of French colonization and genocide, Pope Leo XIV said :
“Our presence here pays tribute to the spirit of a people who fought for their independence, dignity and sovereignty. […]
God desires peace for every nation : a peace that is not merely the absence of conflict, but an expression of justice and dignity.”
Colonization is a crime, whether in
Algeria yesterday or in Palestine today.
Peace without justice is hypocrisy.
What part of this don’t you understand?
The cross is part of the mission. The imperialist occupation of the world is disrupted from within; the violence that until now has been the law is unmasked. The poor, imprisoned, and rejected Messiah descends into the darkness of death, yet in so doing He brings a new creation to light. #HolyThursday
🔴 Colombian President Gustavo Petro:
“There is no superior race.
There is no chosen people of God.
It is neither the United States nor Israel.
The chosen people of God is all of humanity.”
Notice how that lady keeps praying and invoking the Lord's protection.
She might not be Christian but she's definitely devoted ans trusts in God. Who are we to say her prayers won't be heard? My priest once told me anyone who prays with a sincere heart might be heard by Him!
"There is no axiom in history to substantiate the necessity of a people returning to a country they left 19 centuries before."
-Pius XII's Papal Delegate to the Roosevelt Admin
**This is by far the clearest official, expressed Catholic position on Zionism
Alex Pretti was a Catholic. Our martyred brother. His final act on this earth was helping a woman struck down by Trump-Vance border agents. We will not let him die in vain. https://t.co/PwMpOR56YX
The churches in the Holy Land have officially condemned Christian Zionism, saying it’s harmful to both the church and the presence of Christians in the Middle East.
BREAKING: The Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches in Jerusalem have issued a statement rejecting Christian Zionism and warning against unauthorized "representation" of Christians in the Holy Land.
