Engaging Social Justice Methods to Create Palliative Care Programs That Reflect the Cultural Values of African American Patients with Serious Illness and Their Families: A Path Towards Health Equity https://t.co/aM6n7unige

Fawzia, a Yazidi girl kidnapped by ISIS from Iraq and brought to Gaza at just 11 years old, has finally been rescued by the Israeli security forces.
For years, she was held captive by a Palestinian Hamas-ISIS member.
She has now been reunited with her family. Her story is a reminder of the brutality faced by Yazidi children, taken without a choice.
Remember, there are still 101 Israelis being held hostage in Gaza.

👏 Through a new @NIHAging RO1 grant, Dr. @roneetE will partner with colleagues to develop a training program to empower clinicians to improve end-of-life care among African Americans in the South and North U.S.
🎉 Kudos, Dr. Elk!
Fantastic presentation by @roneetE! Essential to PARTNER w/communities to create programs for clinicians caring for individuals w/serious illness &/EoL; EBP model proven to ⬇️health disparities, yet rarely used!

@teamoncology@ASCO@DrEricWiner This is my fist #ASCO meeting. Despite the throng of the 40,000 attendees I saw today, I rarely saw African Americans. Yes EDI is critical.
Off to #ASCO. I’ll give a presentation on our study using CBPR: African Americans created a training program for clinicians to hear and respect the African American community’s perspectives, and to implement the community’s recommendations. So privileged to do this work.
