Bob Hoskins' younger son didn't talk to him for two weeks after watching "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" (1988). Only later did Hoskins realise that it was because that his son might have been angry that his father, who had cartoon friends like Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, etc. wouldn't bring them home to meet him.
Bob Hoskins talking about it:
"After I did ‘Roger Rabbit,’ my younger son wouldn’t talk to me. It took me about two weeks to figure out that he reckoned that any father who had friends like Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, and who didn’t bring them home to meet him, well, his father was a total (jerk). The basic premise of all this business is that everybody’s totally insane. They are. They are completely insane. And that’s wonderful."
(Bob Hoskins's interview with Richard Stayton, LA Times, 1992)
I did a good few of these, some not on Archiverse because they were specifically tied to ingame stuff (made little drawings for completed levels and such). I keep it alive with MM2 comment art, but I really miss Miiverse. it was too good for this world
When Nintendo shut down Miiverse, years of cursed Wii U drawings and strange posts were about to disappear.
So archivists scraped as much of it as possible.
The final archive was reportedly around 17 terabytes.
The internet preserved Nintendo’s weird little social network like ancient cave paintings.
Flickies are mysterious birds, but it's no mystery what great friends they make. Enjoy a Blast from the past and glide onwards to your next adventure.

@St1ka one can only imagine the beauty of alternate reality Dreamcast Pokémon, where a powered up VMU could be designed to play the full RPG on the go and slot into the controller for Stadium shenanigans
@St1ka to be clear, I Love SEGA and Game Freak were /absolutely/ SEGA Kids. GB was just the perfect platform. Heck, it actually took a minute and word of mouth from the Japanese 1996 release for it to blow up. US just had the full marketing machine from the start lol
@St1ka sadly, I don't think Pokémon on Game Gear or anything else would have been a smash. Part of the success was that Game Boy was already pretty popular. "Right place, right time" stuff, for sure.
but damn if those fuckers didn't sell the hell out of some link cables
