Sometimes I get the impression the American Dream is fading.

FREE.

I believe we should be free to express ourselves as we feel. I too meet people who don’t want to hear my view. While they are redefining the word or remain narrow in purview, they are missing opportunities to grow. Free expression and growth are necessary in business.

Historically the most successful hotels were those operated by hands-on owners. When visiting their hotels I found them at the desk, in a room or the laundry and noted my top franchisees. Clean, neat, friendly- enjoying top financial success.They all became multiple hotel owners.

In 1985 we had 296 motels open in 38 states. Inc. reported we had grown revenues by 2,249%. Won’t be long now for @myplacehotels.

Inarguably the hospitality business is dynamic. The fundamental challenge is in the prioritization of........... hospitality or business? The two don’t always shake hands, but do you see how the simultaneous implementation of each leads to profitable results?

I was reminded of Harvey’s closing remarks 9/12:

“I didn’t live very long without appreciating that you rarely accomplish anything by yourself. If I’ve accomplished something, it’s at the fault of others.”

It’s true what Harvey says. I just wish he’d claim more fault for once.
