Between 1837 and 1863, the United States ran no central bank, and prices barely moved. This is no coincidence.

There was no bailout waiting.

Yes, banks did fail sometimes. Free banking critics love bringing that up. But bank failures in a competitive system are exactly how bad actors get flushed out. Depositors learned to check a bank's reputation. Publications like the *Bank Note Reporter* gave people real information on which institutions were solid.

The system wasn't perfect, but it produced something modern central banking has never once delivered: sustained price stability without a government committee deciding what money should cost. The Fed has existed since 1913, and the dollar has lost over 97% of its purchasing power since then.

The former Special Forces soldier argues that Ukraine, Iran, the Middle East and even future flashpoints around the world are all part of a much larger geopolitical process.

Yon says most analysts get trapped in the tactical details, asking who fired first, which missile landed where, or who escalated last.

Instead, he argues every major conflict should be viewed through three lenses: routes, resources and ideology. From that perspective, he claims today's wars are not isolated crises but interconnected pieces of a long-running global struggle.

His most controversial claim is that the apparent chaos isn't incompetence at all.

According to Yon, many decisions that look irrational are actually deliberate acts of sabotage serving a broader objective. He argues that what people dismiss as political failure often makes sense once viewed through what he calls "grand strategy," rather than day-to-day military events.

That leads to his central thesis.

Yon believes the ultimate objective behind many of today's conflicts is global depopulation. He points to wars, energy disruptions, food supply issues and other crises as parts of what he sees as a coordinated long-term campaign rather than disconnected events.

In his view, today's wars are merely one phase of a much older conflict that predates the current generation of political leaders.
