It was an absolute honour to address the collective meeting of the Gujarat Muslim Hitraksha Samitee, a coming together of diverse Muslim groups in Surat, united by a shared concern for the community and its future.
I had the opportunity to speak on “The Challenges and the Road Ahead for Indian Muslims” in the context of the UCC, the Waqf issue, and the growing challenges posed by state oppression and marginalisation.
The road ahead may be difficult, but with unity, clarity of purpose, and an unwavering commitment to justice, we must continue to move forward with hope and determination.

In September 2025, a team from the Miles2Smile Foundation went to Goalpara and Dhubri in Assam to record the aftermath of a large-scale demolition campaign. Their research indicates that over 25,000 dwellings, most of them occupied by Muslim households, were torn down. While gathering testimonies from families left without shelter, the crew encountered monitoring, police obstruction, and sustained pressure, but their commitment to telling these accounts never wavered.
This documentary looks past the debris to show what figures alone cannot convey: the grief of losing a place to call home, the anxiety of rebuilding from nothing, and the quiet strength of people working to restore their livelihoods and their sense of dignity.
Though their houses lie in ruins, their voices will not be silenced.

Some stories refuse to be forgotten. In September 2025, the Miles2Smile Foundation travelled to Goalpara and Dhubri in Assam to witness a demolition drive that, by its findings, reduced more than 25,000 homes, most belonging to Muslim families, to rubble. The team faced surveillance, police interference, and relentless intimidation, yet their resolve never wavered.
This film looks past the ruins to what numbers cannot hold: the grief of losing a home, the fear of beginning again, and the quiet courage of people fighting to reclaim their lives and dignity. Their homes may have been torn down, but their stories will not be erased.

In September 2025, we travelled to Assam’s Goalpara and Dhubri districts to document the aftermath of a demolition drive that, according to our findings, razed more than 25,000 homes, predominantly belonging to Muslim families.
Despite surveillance, police interference, and intimidation, we refused to turn away.
This documentary brings you the voices of those who lost their homes, their dignity, and the lives they once knew. It is a story of displacement, resilience, and the courage to speak when truth is threatened with silence.
Because behind every demolished house is a human story that deserves to be heard.
Releasing October 16, 2026.
Perhaps the most peaceful place in the world, where nature speaks in silence, greenery soothes the soul, and every breath feels like a moment of pure calm. A little corner of the earth where the heart finds peace, the mind feels lighter, and life seems beautiful again. ☘️🌱💚
