@spurgeongrain @itsAntWright A foot has to be planted for a gather to be a gather step (step 0 nba and fiba). Your then allowed 2 more steps from then (nba and fiba) - but just 1 more in ncaa.
ball is gathered with both feet in the air, then first foot that lands is pivot step (step 1) not gather step

@SethDavisHoops The dribble ending is the “gather” - ball pulled to body, hand under ball or two hands on ball indicates end of dribble or “gather” - Maryland player stopped dribble with right foot planted - nba then allows left, right shoot/pass. Apparently ncaa only allow left step shoot/pass

Also, you can’t dribble again AFTER gathering the ball
