@jbbhanly I mean that extremely serious GAEC 2 condition has been in the Annex of CAP document from the very first draft was delivered back in 2017/18, & farmers were allowed to blindly sign up to abide by that condition by all Irish farming orgs. Surely they knew the consequences?

@jbbhanly Very hard to believe that Colm ODonnell & INHFA Leaders only just discovered now that GAEC 2 conditions of drawing Pillar 1 payments CAP meant that whatever actions deemed necessary to provide adequate protection of peatlands & wetlands wouldn't seriously impact their members!

What farm leader could possibly have seen 'the adequate protection of Peatlands and wetlands' as a leading GAEC condition in CAP Draft doc 2018 so it's necessary to receive your most basic payment, & decide not to warn members this was a game changer????

@Biggyfin @ColmMarkey Exactly, and if farmers knew the truth when they should have over 4 years ago, they would have acted to get compensation included in CAP before it was too late. But heads of farm organisations refused to inform members of changes inevitably coming their way! #agendas

@Biggyfin @ColmMarkey There would be no issue with funding in 2023 if farm organisations & MEPs did their job 4 years ago, informing farmers & seeking proper compensation out of CAP for those to be impacted by the Peatlands and wetlands protection which was a GAEC condition from 1st draft doc of CAP!

The agenda as always is to protect the boys with the deep pockets & to do that you need to hoodwink the ordinary farm families into protesting against what should be good for them!
