@narendramodi Congratulations, Team ISRO! 🇮🇳🚀
Another proud moment for India. May ISRO continue to bring many more laurels to our nation, push the boundaries of human knowledge, and break new frontiers in space.
Here’s to many more historic missions and milestones in the years ahead! 🌌🇮🇳
I'm a MarCom professional. Not an economist. Not a minister.
But I've spent 26 years watching how narratives shape institutions and how institutions shape lives.
This is my closing letter.
Cities that reward productivity. A government that admits mistakes and corrects course publicly. That's not a partisan ask. It's a civilisational one.
145 crore Indians deserve a system worthy of their potential.
India's female labour force participation rate: ~37%. OECD average: 65%.
We are leaving the single largest growth driver sitting on the table. Not because Indian women can't work. Because the system isn't built for them to.
Fix 3: Safe commute as policy priority. Street lighting, CCTV, and last-mile connectivity in tier-2 cities indexed specifically to women's employment zones.
Every 1% rise in women's workforce participation adds ~0.2% to GDP. The math is clear.
Fix 1: Crèche-as-infrastructure. Employer-provided or government-subsidised crèche mandatory for any establishment above 20 employees. Currently, the threshold is 50 and is rarely enforced.
Fix 2: SHG-to-Market pipeline via ONDC and GeM as default onboarding.
Mumbai. Bengaluru. Delhi. Hyderabad. Four cities contributing ~15% of India's GDP.
All four flooding seasonally. All four losing 1–2 productive hours per worker daily to commute chaos.
That's not an inconvenience. That's a GDP drag.
Developed nations are built on productive cities. India can't achieve its 2047 targets on broken urban infrastructure.

6/8 in this series. 👇
Fix 1: Mandate transit-oriented development within 500 m of every new metro station. No exceptions. No political overrides.
Fix 2: A 'City Productivity Index' published quarterly by MoHUA, ranking the top 50 cities on commute time, air quality, and water reliability.
Fix 3: Make city mayors directly elected with a fixed 5-year budget allocation from the Centre.
Remove the state government chokehold on urban funding. Productive cities are not a luxury. They are the foundation of a developed nation.
