Dr Mahendra Reddy GS, a Bengaluru surgeon, married dermatologist Dr Kruthika in May 2024.
Less than a year later, in April 2025, while Kruthika was staying with her parents, she complained of abdominal pain. She called Mahendra for help. Mahendra visited her with the calm assurance of a doctor and a husband and administered IV fluids as treatment. But hours later, she collapsed, unresponsive, lifeless, and declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
It appeared to be a sudden medical tragedy. The police, seeing no foul play, were ready to close the case. But Kruthika’s father and sister refused to let it rest, they demanded a post-mortem. Six months later, in October 2025, the forensic report shattered the illusion: traces of Propofol, a powerful anaesthetic, were found in her organs. The “treatment” Mahendra had given her was no treatment at all, it was a lethal dose disguised as care.
When police arrested him, a darker web began to unfold. In the months between his wife’s death and his arrest, Mahendra had been messaging several former girlfriends, attempting to reignite old flames. One of them, a Mumbai-based woman he had dated before marriage, revealed a horrific twist. Back in 2023, Mahendra had faked his own death, having his father tell her he had “died in a road accident,” abruptly ending their relationship.
After Kruthika’s death, he suddenly reappeared in her inbox, alive. She was shocked. He told her that he had always been in love with her and wanted to marry her, but an astrologer he believed had warned him that his “first wife would die within a few years of marriage.”
He claimed his faked death, marriage to Dr. Kruthika, and her death had all been part of that prophecy. Now, as a widower, he professed undying love and proposed marriage again. The woman, horrified and skeptical, blocked him. Furious, Mahendra sent her a chilling message via PhonePe: “I killed my wife for you.”
Mahendra was an intelligent, law abiding man, no criminal record, not even a trace of deviance. And that’s what makes it most unsettling. What drives such people, educated, composed, and seemingly rational, to cross the line into such mindless, calculated brutality? Hope this monster never walks free again.
The real problem for Urban schools in Maharashtra is the humongous tuition fees and other charges extorted from parents. What Swati Maliwal spoke about Delhi also applies to Mumbai and Pune.
How many opposition leaders in Maharashtra have raised this?
At 3:30 PM every Tuesday, citizens are welcome to visit the Mumbai Police Headquarters to share their grievances and concerns directly with me.

Subject: Appeal for a merit-based and economically inclusive system of opportunities
Respected Sir,
I write to you as a young citizen of India , a student who believes that our nation’s strength lies in equality, not division.
Sir, caste-based reservation has become a political tool . After more than 75 years of independence, it has become a permanent fixture in our policy structure. While its intent was noble, its impact today deserves review - not to take away anyone’s rights, but to ensure fairness for all.
According to NITI Aayog (2023) and NCRB data:
• Over 70% of India’s poor today come from all castes, including so-called “upper castes,” yet they remain outside the safety net of reservation.
• Nearly 85% of government jobs and higher education seats are covered under some form of reservation, leaving limited space for open competition.
• Around 80,000 students from the General Category scored above 95% in Class 12 (CBSE 2024), yet many couldn’t get admission to top colleges due to seat constraints.
• Meanwhile, in some institutions, the cut-off gap exceeds 50–70 marks, creating deep frustration and hopelessness among meritorious youth.
Sir, India needs an economic and merit-based model of affirmative action that uplifts the poor and deserving from every section of society - not one that divides based on caste lines drawn 70 years ago.
Reservation should be a support system, not a political tool. It must empower the underprivileged, not penalize merit.
We, the youth of India, are not asking for special privilege - only for equal opportunity. Please initiate a national review of the reservation policy and design a new model rooted in economic need, education level, and regional backwardness, rather than inherited identity.
We dream of an India where every student, regardless of caste, can say:
“My future is in my hands - not in my caste certificate .”
With deep respect and hope,
Yours faithfully,
A concerned General Category youth
(For equality, fairness, and one India for all)

On This Day | World Vada Pav Day
In the 1960s, Dadar became the birthplace of Mumbai’s most iconic snack. Ashok Vaidya (and some say Sudhakar Mhatre) served the first vada pav to mill workers. This is the photo of first stall.
Which is your favourite vada pav stall in the city?
Thank you for raising #CIBIL issue, @KartiPC.
Opaque, unaccountable entity with disproportionate power over our lives.
You find cards/loans linked to you which you never had.
Scores screwed for some Rs 127 unpaid amount you don’t know whom to repay.
Scam.
And finally, the real Hero…

A note to NRIs, esp Tambrahms.
Stop at some logical point and get back here to India.
If not, arrange a caretaker for your parents who live alone in India. In case they don't agree, accommodate them in an elder care facility. Visit them atleast once in two years. When your parents turn 75 they begin to deteriorate. 80+ aged parents are so frail that they can't do anything on their own. I interact with many such NRI parents on a daily basis and am writing from what I see. There is enough material for three full fledged novels. You may be arranging Periyava Mandalis or Brahmotsavams in the USA, but the real gods that brought you to this world are languishing.
Your $s are less worthy than the adult diapers that your parents struggle to wear by themselves.

Every Year, He Walks Into the Land Where His Son Never Returned…
At IGI Airport, a humble figure waits quietly in line at the departure gate. Not for a vacation. Not for a business trip.
But for an emotional pilgrimage.
Col. Virender Thapar is on his way to Drass, near Kargil — a journey he makes every single year.
It’s the final resting place of his 22-year-old son, Lt. Vijyant Thapar, who laid down his life during the 1999 Kargil War.
Before his final mission, Lt. Vijyant wrote a heart-wrenching letter to his parents, asking his father to one day visit the place where he and his fellow soldiers stood their ground… and fell.
Col. Thapar has honoured that promise — every year, without fail.
No cameras. No headlines. Just a father keeping a promise to a son… and to his nation.
This is not just a story of war.
It’s a story of love, duty, and the unbreakable bond between a soldier and his family.
May we never forget their sacrifice. 🙏🏻
Immediate, simple steps to take against Pakistan that should not require many meetings and planning:
1) End those silly border ceremonies with Pakistan and distributing sweets during festivals, FOREVER. Make it so by law, that even if another govt comes they need to change the law and face public ire.
2) End Kartarpur corridor. It was a silly decision to open it and allow Pakistani Khalistan operations against India. It must be closed, FOREVER.
3) Stop Pakistanis from visiting India. Not even on medical visas, FOREVER.
4) Stop all trade with Pakistan FOREVER. Make it illegal for Indians and Indian national run companies, no matter where they are situated, to trade with Pakistan.
5) Stop all humanitarian exports to Pakistan even if there's a disaster. Medicines included FOREVER.
6) End all cricket and sports with Pakistan FOREVER. Not even in Dubai or other venues. If Pakistan plays in a tournament, India should not. Use BCCI and ICI to ban their cricket team, citing terrorism, like Russia was banned from Olympics and sports.
7) Prevent Pakistani planes from using Indian Airspace when going east to Asia. Similarly, end air space access to all international planes landing/taking-off in Pakistan unless their state publicly calls out Pakistan sponsored terrorism. Singapore Airlines from Singapore to Islamabad, or British Airways from Melbourne to Karachi must NOT be able to use Indian air space if their govts and state media like CNA and BBC do not condemn Pakistan sponsored terrorism and call such attacks as Islamist terrorist attacks from Pakistan.
8) Pakistani run "Indian" restaurants around the world must be hit. I do not know how India will do it. But they should not use the "Indian restaurant" brand name. Help all Indian travelers avoid eating in those restaurants by identifying them in every city.
9) Make it anti-national to preach "peace with Pakistan" by losers in India. Any support of Pakistan by Indians must be punishable - online or offline. Like how US punished Americans supporting USSR and communists.
10) Ban all Youtube and SM channels from Pakistan accessible in India making millions of our ad revenue and doing subtle propaganda as if they are friends. So long I have been crying about this.
All the above, not so difficult right? They are no brainers. And should have been done long ago. Hope India does them soon.
