Christians must always look to the Bible as the supreme source of truth and authority.

Ecclesiolaters don’t actually understand the debate or where the debate sits.

The debate is not between “an infallible Bible” and “an infallible Church.” It is between God authenticating His own revelation and institutions authenticating their own authority.

Roman Cath, Eastern Ortho, Oriental Ortho, and the Assyrian Church all make essentially the same type of claims:

❌ We are the true Church.
❌ Therefore our tradition is authoritative.
❌ Therefore our interpretation of Scripture is correct.
❌ Which proves we are the true Church.

The authority claim is ultimately validated by the claimant itself. That’s the circularity I have been exposing.

Meanwhile, by contrast, we have what actually happens.

✅ God reveals Himself in history.
✅ God authenticates His prophets and apostles before witnesses through miracles, fulfilled prophecy, the resurrection, etc.
✅ God gives His written revelation.
✅ God’s people recognize His voice. (“My sheep hear My voice.”)

Institutional idolaters (Ecclesiolatry) start with redefining the term “the church.” Once they redefine “the church” to = a hierarchical centralized institution, they pick the one that redefined it for them. Yet they have no infallible, non-circular method for determining which of the competing claimants is the true “the church.” Point is that they start with “church.”

❌ Authenticates itself

❌ Authenticates Scripture

By contrast, true believers (those who have heard and learned from the Father – Jn 6:44; just like Peter heard and learned from the Father – Mt 16:17) start with GOD.

✅ God

✅ Authenticates Himself

✅ Authenticates His messengers

✅ Authenticates His Word

✅ God spiritually changes His people to recognize it and hear His voice (cf. 1 Cor. 2:14; John 3:3–10)

God’s revelation wasn’t given in a corner. It was publicly attested (e.g., the Exodus, the Resurrection of Jesus, apostolic miracles), and then recorded in Scripture.

The 👉foundation👈 is God’s objective self-authentication in history, not multiple competing institutions each claiming to authenticate themselves.

Scripture rests on God’s public self-authentication in history, with God’s people recognizing His voice rather than relying on someone to first determine which institution among multiple competing institutions making the same claims is the true one.

Well I cannot know the subnet mask for a /28 IP block from Scripture.

However,

I can believe in Jesus, have life in His name, be the “complete” man of God, and “equipped for every good work” from Scripture.

So I would agree with Irenaeus:

“We have known the method of our salvation by no other means than those by whom the gospel came to us; which gospel they truly preached; but afterward, by the will of God, they delivered to us in the Scriptures, to be for the future the foundation and pillar of our faith,”

Now I am sure this went over your head a little, but it was not a subject change. What I did not let you do is dodge and relocate the problem.

So how do you know which “the church” church is the true “the church” church?

"Hold fast to the traditions" does that comprise of the Catholic Church???

"The Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth" Does that refer to the Catholic Church??

That is why you need The Holy Spirit of God to guide you through His word, otherwise you'll end up in heresy, just like the One Unholy Apostate Roman Catholic Cult

@lilaroseshow This is a prime example of mistaking feelings for God's will. The heart is deceitful, as Scripture says. God would never lead a person into a religion that has rejected Christ's gospel and replaced it with works and traditions.
