@SouadH9@phoenixstealthy anyway bro you seems to come from mostly theoretical knowledge, just go fuck around and you will find out why we are saying that.
@SouadH9@phoenixstealthy I don't think that most indicator are really great at making signal in today's market. I think you didn't understand the "market / flow / participant" part.
Filtering when or when not to use your signal why not, can help to exclude situation were you are taking too much risk.
@beniduboss "fuck around until you found out"
Yeah trying to live with almost nothing is like so liberating when you realize you don't need much to have a good day, it's mostly a state of mind (in western society at least).
@SouadH9@phoenixstealthy Because the dumb strategies with high return are mostly low to medium capacity. I they were high capacity the HF would fight for it way more. solo quant / small shop mostly go for lower capacities one so they don't as hard against full team on the infra side
@SouadH9@phoenixstealthy you can run backtest on dumb stratagies I don't see why the signal would need to be complex math for it to make sense.
Math rigor rules clearly but easy math strategies are all over saturated on big CEX, go try by yourself you will see
@SouadH9@phoenixstealthy He is saying small algo trading company so expect him to run low to medium capacity strategies trying to make high return on them not the same problem of a 9 10 fig prop shop that need to allocate it all somehow.
Backtest is a totaly separate question
@SouadH9@phoenixstealthy think he is saying that the strategies that you re thinking about, using classic ideas based on simple math are often oversaturated.
Often decent strategy are dumb math wise but you need to understand some element of the market / flow / participant and put it into code.
@BruHFT_quant@levbeta I tried to convince myself that pycharm was better a while ago, and it's true has a few nice functionalities around viewing data and debugging but only for the paid edition if i remember.
Community edition was just worse then vscode
@cryptohound666@MarkBestForex think it's both, gonna depend on your motivation.
I think like we saw gen Z in avg shittier at computer because everything became simpler. But the ones motivated had access to insane online resource and could grind really far early on.
