@vxunderground Youre assuming they are broke and that just may well not be true. With FL Prepaid, some well off parents, a bunch of those students have a bunch of cash available. Heck i had an intern who bought a 3 houses there while an undergrad and rented them out.
@rootpoint@Bob4Florida@haleyngreen___ All you have to do is whisper “socialism” in a Cuban’s ear and they automatically think they’re voting Castro for president 😂
@can_tdisplay@MarcoAFrieri So many 2nd and 3rd generation cubans I know (the kids in grade school now) dont even speak Spanish, listen to country music and dance salsa wirh their mothers, but have their names like Evan or Ethan or Emma or similar.
They are assimilating, just Miami is already 78% latino.
@Bob4Florida@haleyngreen___@CallusTheApe If shes from Hialeah, as all true Chongas are, this is 100% true.
I remember when it was their mother's telling them, not their Abuelas, but that's just me now feeling old.

Was recently at a bar where drinks were dynamically priced,
i.e. the more people bought a particular drink, the more expensive it became (price would then decayed over time towards a floor).
Fascinating to watch a few market mechanisms play out in a bar:
People ventured outside their usual orders in search of cheaper alternatives, often discovering new favorites in the process.
Others treated rising prices as signals of quality, happily paying premiums to try expensive drinks they’d never had before.
More experienced drinkers behaved like value investors, picking up underpriced drinks they already knew were good while everyone else chased the popular ones.
Price discovery, information leakage, herding, and utility trades all unfolded over rounds of drinks.
More bars should try this.
@N0VIB3@reallywendy I was mixing in French doors in there so pricing may have been a bit off. A lot of the window sellers don't have their own crews and outsource to GCs and charge a bit more to cover it
@LisaForteUK I feel like you are speed running The Bourne Identity. Have you recently been scuba diving in the Mediterranean from a large yacht controlled by a former African dictator?
We need answers
@Canes33129@contraturn@TrintonBreeze We used to just show our cane cards. Then they started scanning them. Are you telling me now students have to get tickets beforehand by request?
@GMMeyer@qquinnsworth Ah yes the old "i went to school in Boston" or "I grew up in NY" and then they really mean Westchester and then a specific really nice town there.
@reallywendy In Miami that would be hurricane rated windows with install. I would get them as they are quieter, more efficient, and lower your insurance premiums. But in your case why are they charging so much for them if not rated for it.
I can ask a buddy who makes them to find out
@reallywendy I got nothing for you then.
I would find another vendor.
Its about 500 a window to install here in Miami, plus the cost of window. GC has to do it with permit for insurance reasons. How many windows are you doing?
@SwiftOnSecurity Go check the differences between US and EU SDS for those chemicals. REACH/ECHA requirements are a bit more stringent to not hide the formula for safety reasons and you have consortiums who get approved to make it.
Its like non fluorinated fluids in certain uses, they dont exist.
