Just over 3 weeks until pubs can reopen, but with no clarity on the new guidelines, landlords are in the dark as to what preparations are to be made or how many staff we'll need. A 1 meter rule would make all the difference for struggling pubs @CAMRA_Official @10DowningStreet

A rush to reopen hospitality venues could be a disaster for the industry... Pubs and restaurants with social distancing could be running at 50% capacity (or less). Many operators wouldn't make it and those who do would be running on a shoestring staffing budget.

A "return to normality" for pub-goers seems a distant reality as business owners are forced to consider solutions that may change the face of traditional pubs as we know it. Bar stools are probably gone forever, as will be cash payments. Table service is in.

Pubs are to remain closed until July at the earliest, but after that what does the future hold for the industry? Will businesses survive at a reduced capacity and how many not will reopen at all?

Can a cosy little pub enforce 2 metre social distancing and still call itself cosy?
