I was racially profiled yesterday and accused of stealing dress shirts. I was enraged. I did not sleep last night — I am angry, offended, and frankly, fearful.
My blood pressure is up, and I am beyond stressed. And y’all wonder why we talk about health issues caused by racism.

I’ve heard many PTs make slick comments about their patients weight, and I have seen the switch in patient care when treating fat patients. As a profession, we must change our view on fat politics. We are movement specialists, not weight watchers.
Statements that are rooted in racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. are NOT opinions. When your “opinions” actively harm other people, no one is entitled to value them and listen to what you want to say.
