Water waves are a combination of longitudinal & transverse motions. As a wave moves through water, the particles travel in clockwise circles. The radius of the circles decreases as the depth into the water increases

Today, a collaboration with the group of Prof. Shiyong Wang (Shanghai University) has been finally published in Nature Communications. Here we show how the parity symmetry of the frontier orbitals in nanographenes can affect to the magnetic exchange.
Babies don’t babble to sound cute—they’re taking their first steps on the path to learning language. A study from last year shows parrot chicks do the same. #ScienceMagArchives https://t.co/e7t1BqNdGb

Yesterday was the Ceremony of closing the academic year of @UA_Universidad . This included the official graduation of PhD students, such as @ROrtizCano . Here some pictures of Ricardo Ortiz, Juan Carlos Sancho García (co-supervisor) and myself, wearing academic suits.
This week two of students in my group, @ROrtizCano and Noel García defended successfully their PhD thesis at @UA_Universidad. Both of them have carried out research at @INLnano and Alicante. Vivas in Covid time are part of the dystopia we are living, but I am happy they made it.
Our paper "Large Magnetic exchange coupling in rhombus-shaped nanographenes with zigzag periphery" was just published today in Nature Chemistry
