After all, Ukraine was neutral and well equipped by Irish standards. The sanctification of neutrality is my concern, as it prevents clear thinking.

Sadly, the idea of neutrality in Ireland has become mythologised and illusory. When an idea becomes part of a national identity it’s deceptive. This is the consensus view on neutrality:
