Wow what an offensive fireworks show the Mariners are deciding to put on against Zack Wheeler of all pitchers to do it against Cal Raleigh homers knocking in 2 more runs giving the Mariners now a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning still

But Julio big J-ROD the franchise quarterback of this offense and the superstar face of the Seattle Mariners that is Julio Rodriguez launching a 3 run bomb off Zack Wheeeler after both Randy & Canzone get on base to open the inning up with no outs yet then Julio dagger to start

Ohhhh and what a thing of beauty the Mariners Ace in Logan Gilbert has himself a rough start to this game tonight & racks those 29 pitches up in one inning & it was deflating I will say I was ready after last night to see a third game where we let them hit 20 runs of BP in game

Oh my God Seattle sports fans around the world! MARINERS FANS TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE! Who else had their mood dip down a ton watching Logan struggle that 1st but then instantly be allowed to pick myself right back up when Randy & Canzone gave them back a two on 0 out situation

But other than that it was a great way he took back control of that inning after watching it go instantly into insane base activity and loading the bases with one out against this Phillies lineup that has been one of the best in baseball Id say you’ll take only coughing up one

Oh my God!!! NOW THIS!! bases loaded right off rip at home giving up 2 hits and a walk on 25 pitches and the one doing it tonight of all them is Logan Gilbert now trying his hand to see how high he can skyrocket his phenomenal ERA now like everyone else? Gotta be a competition

Thankfullly tho Logan Gilbert doesn’t come to the mound to play those games tho as he gets his second strikeout to end the inning finally Gilbert avoids the dreaded first inning 30 pitch inning with a 29 pitch one (17 strikes) but the walk and two hits killed him gave up a run.

Ohhhhh my God the fact that this bit of historical information has to be another scab that keeps ripping itself off letting itself scab back up back before then attempting and succeeding at building another scab right on top of the other when it comes to 2026 Mariners Baseball

Meanwhile the Phillies have a pitching staff of Wheeler, Sanchez, Luzardo, Nola who after a struggle of a start to his season has finally began to come back into his dominate effective form as Nola over his 4 August starts over 23.0 IP he posted a 2.74 ERA & 30 K’s

on the mound this year he has been unable to be trusted to limit any sort of damage since they called him up & honestly was shocked he hadn’t been sent down idk why they’d keep him up at all he had been a guaranteed base loading machine since he came up from the minors

Why? Sam Hentges? That’s all you’ve got in the pen to close!? Really?! Just ruined a phenomenal outing by Tidwell. You could quickly sense this was destined to end horribly when they threw out Carson Seymour in relief who has been a train wreck everytime he’s stepped on a mound

Carson Seymour literally has looked only awful & has been beyond horrific in 2026 so much so that Seymour got just two chances to try to start & attempt to last 5 innings in an MLB game just two times before they had to quickly yank the plug and him to the bullpen in relief
