of course it does. Decades of research now show 90% correlation between wage bill and league performance, which we can extrapolate.
Even if the PL does waste some of this through inefficiency it still amounts to a talent drain - Brentford can now outbid Milan for players
English teams should now always win the Europa League and Conference - and there have already been the suggestions of the beginning of a trend there.

This is for those who genuinely don’t think our players and club are affected by the outside hate campaign that our ex players and specifically class of 92 members have aimed against the club. I’ve said it time and time again, they do it to destabilise us.
They've been at it again.
Whether it's Carrick's wife or Lisandro Martinez, nobody is safe from the ex-player podcast chatterati and the impossible task of escaping the noise.
Don't let them tell you they have the club's best interests at heart. #MUFC

Gary Neville and Roy Keane are a total and utter embarrassment to @ManUtd and need to just fuck off.
Its like the Overlap and those two are competing with Scholes and Butt's channel to who can trash the club the most and win the award for most toxic ex-player.. 🤬🤬🤬
Michael Carrick has been interim head coach for 2 days and already before we've even kicked a ball under him you've got them trash talking him, pilling on pressure and ripping shreds of the coaching team.
Its pathetic, its dripping with jealousy and pure ragebait engagement farming. Its does NOTHING to help the club they claim to care about.
You've got that bitter twat Keane having a pop at Carrick's wife? Like WTF, its Day 2!! For those of you that don't know the history, Carrick's wife called Roy Keane out back in 2014 when Keane was busy throwing Carrick under the bus saying he was finished at Utd. She was right back then, Keane was a prick and still very much is.
He's becoming the token joke act, playing up to his grudge-holding persona for the cameras. He trashes Sir Alex Ferguson and all the managers and players. Its not football insights, its just being a dick for the sake of being a dick.
As for Gary Neville - such a wet fish. Changes his mind every week, contradicts himself at every turn. Wants Utd DNA, someone that knows the club, until his mate Keane disagrees and now its Ancelotti, Simeone?
Whats more scary, is the board supposedly listen to these guys and consider what they have to say. If they do then they don't deserve any respect as 99% of what these guys say is pure entertainment, for TV, for the camera's.
The only one that talks any sense on that show is Ian Wright. He constantly defends Utd, the players, the manager whilst they are busy trashing, piling on the pressure and bring the most wild, stupid takes.
They are a massive part of the problem at this football club. Recently we've seen managers and players of Manchester United talk about the negative impact these ex-players are having, we've got rival managers and players all over the game that can see how toxic they are and mentioning it... and yet huge parts of our own fanbase are still here agreeing with them and adding to the pile on and toxic environment.
As each day passes I have more and more respect for David Beckham and all the other ex-Manchester United players that don't feel the need trash the very club that gave most of them the most success of their careers.
It’s mental that the lads in the VAR room watched this and said “yeah, nowt in it” what the fuck else could he have been trying to do? Yet watches the “foul” on him for the disallowed goal and said “good call ref”
FA not in a position to investigate & potentially take retrospective action on this one as it was said to be seen at the time. Raises more questions about what VAR are doing if the referee missed it. It’s a blatant stamp & warrants a red card & 3 match ban for violent conduct
Laughable thing about VAR is that if you don’t act hurt, they don’t do anything about it
If Dorgu was rolling around clutching his leg, Walker would have seen red
You’re only rewarded for theatrics, and it just encourages more diving
Kyle Walker is a disgrace.
This was blatant.
And he dived to get our goal disallowed.
But you’ll never hear about it again.
Because it happened to Manchester United.
