BREAKING: UN Secretary-General says the world's biggest carbon emitters must start drastically cutting emissions within the next 36 weeks to avert climate catastrophe 🧵
There's a new study out on young peoples' attitudes to climate change.
Survey on 16-25yo across 10 countries. 1,000 people in each country.
Since it's in the media quite a bit, but data not quick to find, I plotted some of the results 🧵👇
In response to the IPCC report this week, the Irish farming lobby appears to be coordinating a misinformation campaign to spread confusion about the warming impact of methane. They then accuse any scientist correcting them of lobbying, sometimes getting personal.
Some examples:

🇮🇪♻️ Ireland is going to become a leader on #ClimateAction.
With net-zero emissions by 2050 and a 51% reduction in carbon by 2030, Ireland is tackling this challenge head-on. #IPCC
Scream it from the rooftops: 50% BY 2030 IS TOO LITTLE, 2050 IS TOO LATE.
These pathetic targets drawn up by greedy politicians desperate to hold on to power will not save us. We have to do that ourselves.
Today's IPCC report reiterates what we already know: limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees remains possible, but only if we act now. Are our leaders willing to do what is needed, or will they continue to prioritize profits over planet?
The answer is clear: #UprootTheSystem
With the @IPCC_CH report coming out today, it's crucial that we come together and mobilise for change. Here are a few places to start if you're looking to get involved in Ireland- feel free to add any more below!

Most Irish people do get the threat that climate change and biodiversity loss presents and want to do something about.
Unfortunately, you don't. That's why you gutted your own climate bill this week, which was already inadequate, and why you are propping up the aviation industry
