i've joked with long-time viewers about "disappearing" before, but our viewers don't owe us their time or attendance.
people have lives outside of twitch. if someone chooses to stop by, lurk, or say hi when they're free, that's something to appreciate, not demand.
Never left a stream so fast...
Just watched a streamer lash out on a viewer for not "showing up enough."
Like what???
Have we forgotten that our viewers are people too? They have responsibilities of their own and their own lives outside of your community. God forbid they don't drop everything to watch 24/7 😱
Also, like... viewers don't owe us anything? To me, I am appreciative that there are people who would make the effort to even stop by for a few minutes to say hello and wish me luck on the stream??
Jesus Christ... no one should ever have to be publicly shamed for something so stupid 😭
The canon event for every new VTuber 😭🖤
VTuber: “Hi, I’m a new upcoming VTuber, nice to meet you!”
Viewer: “I would love to be friends!”
VTuber: “Sure!”
Viewer 2 minutes later:
“My dad never loved me, I cannot afford rent, all my friends hate me, and I am spiraling.”
VTuber:
“…oh”
Please remember creators are people, not emergency therapists 😭
No streamer wants to see these kinds of comments. It's rude & can discourage the streamer. Imo, low viewership doesn't devalue the stream! I saw a streamer end stream the other day cuz chat wasn't moving as much as he'd like even tho people were there! Value people! Not numbers!
i mean this in the kindest way possible— i’m begging vtubers to gain a crumb of financial literacy.
😭
please use a business bank account.
please put your savings and money you put aside for taxes and your extra business reinvestment money into high yield savings accounts.
put aside money for taxes.
give yourself a monthly budget.
you will not survive the kind of rollercoaster that is your income as a content creator if you’re not helping yourself. it’s literally the only way i’ve been able to continue this job for six years despite being very small and going through MANY big emergencies without having to beg for donos every single month some years.
for the love of christ save for and open a retirement account (i don’t care how old you are, start right now.)
My biggest pieces of advice for streamers:
Don't read every chat message out loud. Read it in your head and then reply to the person by name.
"Yeah, this game is fun Name! I've been playing it for a week. Do you like it?"
Set up a mute button for your mic on collabs, and do not talk to your chat/thank subs and follows out loud into your partners ears.
It's bad etiquette and it can fill up too much space in someone else's stream/ get to a point where you're talking over each other. It makes the stream too loud and busy and drives people away.
Happy streaming!!!

Please go through your privacy settings and turn some of these invasive features off, especially if you use multiple accounts and don't want family or friends to know about them.
IMPORTANT ‼️‼️
VTubers, make sure this setting is turned OFF for when copying/sharing YouTube links? I have no idea why anyone would want this feature, but you may be accidentally doxxing yourself if you browse/share from a personal account instead of your vtubing one 😨
