Still feels surreal seeing this feature in print ✨
Seeing my academic journey reflected back to me is a reminder of how much can happen in just a few years. Grateful for the opportunities, collaborations and communities that have shaped this journey! #PhDChat
Honoured to be featured in my university’s magazine, reflect on my academic journey across countries and disciplines (particularly with @UniKarlova & @FacultyofArtsUG), how I found my academic community in #MemoryStudies, and the latest developments in my research 🎓🌎🏛️
Last week, I presented at the XI ICCEES World Congress, hosted by my alma mater @UCLSSEES . I spoke on my PhD research and the concept of the “post-communist exotic,” exploring how museums in CEE reshape local and transnational memory narratives. #ICCEES2025#MemoryStudies
This week, I officially started my new position as a researcher at the Institute of Ethnology at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (@CzechAcademy), joining the OP JAK Land Gone Wild project team as well as the Department of #MemoryStudies within the institute.

Even on a weekend getaway in Nuremberg with my best friend, my research found me!
📚 I came across the “Memory Movers” exhibition at Neues Museum by Berlin-based artists @BoehlerOrendt. A creatively intriguing take on #MemoryStudies!
Does this happen to you too? #PhDChat
📣 Exciting news! After months of preparation, I am thrilled to share that the Annual @MemStudiesAssoc Conference will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from July 14-18, 2025, with the theme, "Beyond Crises: Resilience and (In)stability." #MSA2025#MemoryStudies
As in previous years, the conference will also host the MSA Forward postgraduate workshop, which allows junior researchers to engage with other scholars in their field and receive feedback from established academics. #PhDChat
CALL FOR PAPERS: Malach Center for Visual History is celebrating fifteen years since its opening, and it will commemorate this anniversary with a second edition of the Prague Visual History and Digital Humanities Conference (PRAVIDCO 2025, January 23-24).
A huge shout out to @orlifridman and Jovan Ivanovic from the Faculty of Media and Communications (#FMK) for the impeccable organisation despite our ‘slower’ inclinations to get on with the program. Here’s another tote bag to add to the ever-growing collection! #SlowMemory
Just returned from an incredible journey at the Slow Memory (@slowmemo) ECR Training School in Belgrade, funded by the COST Action. It was truly inspiring to be surrounded by a diverse group of scholars, from seasoned experts to emerging talents in #MemoryStudies.
From masterclasses to political walks, the program was a rich blend of work and play. Some highlights include @IgorStiks’ captivating talk on the intellectual landscape in the region, the refreshing idea of a 'Fuck-Up Night', and seeing familiar faces and forging new connections!
@PhDVoice@PostdocVoice My biggest struggle is juggling the guilt of doing anything else other than my PhD and actually enjoying and making time for myself and my social life! Anyone else? Plus, not everyone understands what PhD students/candidates do.
