41-year-old Melissa L. Farris is facing federal prison after spray-painting "Clean hands Dirty $" and soaping the fountain at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. — a sacred site honoring the 16 million Americans who served.

She is now facing TWO federal felonies:
1. Depredation against U.S. property
2. Destruction of a veterans' memorial

Each charge carries up to 10 YEARS in federal prison.

And this wasn't her first run-in with law enforcement. Just days earlier, she was arrested for unlawfully camping on federal property nearby.
