We’ve successfully wrapped up our Girls on Track event during the Secto Rally in Finland, together with WRC and AKK. 

The girls took part in workshops ranging from media and communications and management through to tyre changing with Toyota Gazoo Racing. They had the opportunity to hear from speakers including Finnish Minister of Sport, Youth and Physical Activity, Mika Poutala, WRC Female Driver Development Program winner Claire Schonborn, and Pernilla Solberg, Chair of the FIA World Rally Championship Commission, as well as Janni Hussi  gave a short, heartfelt talks to the girls and allowed them to see them live in the rally environment.

Anna Nordqvist, FIA Vice President for Sport – Europe, took part in the Management Workshop and gave an inspiring address to the participants. 

The weekend was truly special – inspiring female role models, interactive workshops, and memorable connections across generations and geographies.

2. Rosemary Smith was a Rally Driver from Dublin, and a style icon. She began Rally Driving at a young age and attempted to participate in the Le Mans race in 1962 but was denied entry due to her gender. This did not hold her back as she went on to win the Tulip Rally in 1965. In 2017, Rosemary test drove a Renault F1 car, making her the oldest person to drive a car of this level.
