1 in 3 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. On average, 2 women are murdered each week by men in the UK. We are walking in solidarity to raise awareness of this gender-based violence. We walk for all women, named and unnamed. #SayTheirNames#141challenge
Our second big walk is complete!
We are half way through our #141challenge to raise awareness of violence against women and girls. 141 women were killed by men in 2021. We walk in remembrance to these women and in solidarity towards a future where women and girls can feel safe.
As #NSAW2022 ends and #NationalWalkingMonth begins, we wanted to present our #141challenge fundraising campaign! This May, TMG will be walking 141 miles for the 141 women killed by men in 2021. Please donate what you can, link below and in the bio above ^^^ 🚶♀️ 🚶♂️ 🚶♀️
Thread: Many of us find talking about suicide difficult. But for someone who’s feeling suicidal, talking about it could be their first step towards getting help.
Here are some tips to help you when talking to someone about suicidal feelings this #WorldSuicidePreventionDay (1/10)
Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay#Suicide is a global public health issue.
All ages, sexes and regions of the world are affected.
There is a lot we can do to prevent suicide https://t.co/r9RvvtGoxp
This #WorldSuicidePreventionDay, we have a message for any young person experiencing suicidal feelings: We know it’s scary. You’re being so brave. Please know this moment will pass and things can get better. Reach out for help. Don't go through this alone.
We all:
- Have doubts
- Have regrets
- Get hurt
- Burn out
- Cry
- Make mistakes
So we all occasionally need:
- To ask for advice
- To feel heard
- Sympathy
- A helping hand
- To be forgiven
- To forgive ourselves
