@SorchaEastwood See this all the time. Is there any comparison to the original tender spec and work produced? The lack of quality and workmanship in these contracts is unreal. I can only imagine they know no one is going to check.
@JonBurrowsMLA@chrisadonnelly It just feels like so much scaremongering. Yes these crimes are possible but with a higher investment in youth services and social support the probability could be diminished.
Disgusting interview with @gordonlyons1 on @StephenNolan today. During the interview the Minister showed himself ignorant of Disabled people and how the social security system works. The interview seems designed to create fear and sow division. Short thread to correct the record.
The core problem of the modern political landscape is the total impotence and complete lack of importance of ordinary people. We sit on the outside watching as around the world incompetent people with self interest as their motivation do nothing to make life better.
@C_Fitz_ It isn't a test of academic prowess. If It was it would be set without any fanfare on a random Tuesday. The amount of tutoring and prep massively moves the goalposts
@Briansmyth99 The dereliction and landbanking is obscene and contributes to the feeling. It wouldn't happen if it was costing property owners instead of rewarding them with lower rates and zero consequences.
@BelTel@GWalker9 Lots of people come here legitimately to work and study. Assylum seekers a tiny minority. What really bugs me is lack of facts from some elected representatives. It just deflects from the lack of political solutions to homelessness, poverty and inequality
14th century doctors: “I don’t know what’s wrong with you, but you’re a woman so…witchcraft”
19th century doctors: “I don’t know what’s wrong with you, but you’re a woman so…hysteria”
21st century doctors: “I don’t know what’s wrong with you, but you’re a woman so…anxiety”
@SuzyJourno He was a nasty bully as they all are, and it is hard to believe no one knew that. The real issue is the tacit acceptance of bullies and their dysfunctional behaviour and the belief it is no ones business but their own
i want to break down some disability stats because i see a lot of people balking at the idea that there are 16 million disabled people in the UK (only 3.6 million of those on PIP, and only 37% of those claimants on the highest amount of £737 a month)
let’s have a 🧵 shall we?
@NewtonEmerson Landbanking and dereliction needs addressed. Rates should be increased to make building neglect unaffordable. The council should remember it is a service provider who's rate payers expect a standard of service delivery.
