Palestinian designer Yasmeen Mjalli reveals she was on the brink of closing her fashion brand, Nöl Collective, after Israeli customs destroyed one of their fabric shipments — until Olivia Rodrigo commissioned a dress to inaugurate her Daisy Chains festival.
“I was genuinely like, maybe we should stop, maybe this is our last effort. I was just so tired. [But Rodrigo’s commission] was like divine intervention. Obstacles are always going to be there, but if you can adapt you will be rewarded. I rise and I rise and I rise.”

If you want to know why our salaries are so low, it's because of government policies to introduce cheap exploitable foreign labour for 🇲🇾 businesses salaries.
We are burdened with these struggles by the capitalist government so they can increase profits for golongan MEF.
Abolish Entertainment Tax Act 1953
For too long we have been governed by outdated British colonial-era laws.
The best example is the Entertainment Tax Act 1953 (passed before Merdeka).
Today in 2026, we are still using a 73-year-old tax on families’ happiness.
On families theme parks, on school trips, on children’s joy visiting Themeparks, Zoo, museum Aquarium, concerts
How can Malaysia become a modern tourism and creative nation with laws from 1953?
Now It’s time we have laws made by Malaysians, for Malaysians.
This should be treated as national crisis. I genuinely don't understand why we aren't approaching this issue with great urgency. 1 in 4 kids! That's crazy
Malaysia:±126,000
Indonesia yg besar tu pun tak sampai 10,000
Philippines? Takde
Singapore? Takde
Thailand? Tak sampai 1,000
Kenapa Malaysia paling ramai?
Sebab pintu tu pemimpin kita yg buka
Bukan dia yg kena hadap.
Kita.
A Jeju police officer was arrested today for deliberately shutting down missing-person cases — not one or two, but roughly 298 of them. He told families their loved ones were safe, then quietly deleted the cases from the missing-persons system.
The case cracked open because of Jang Mi-ran's disappearance, which turned out to expose a far larger cover-up.
Jang Mi-ran, 37, went missing on May 12.
Her boyfriend reported it, and the officer assigned to the case told him he'd reached her, that she was safe, and that she didn't want her location shared — then closed the file that same night. It later emerged there was no record police had ever actually contacted her.
Once the officer was identified and implicated, investigators went back through his past cases. Between August 22 and 24, they found four bodies of people who had been reported missing — Jang Mi-ran among them, found 104 days after she disappeared, just a few minutes' walk from where she'd been staying. The other three were men, two in their 60s and one in his 70s.
Since prosecutors' authority to conduct supplementary investigation was abolished, public anxiety has been mounting over how a single officer could kill hundreds of cases with almost no way for anyone to catch it.
