As a Rajya Sabha member from Punjab, and a member of the Standing Committee on Health & Family Welfare, I have been advocating for affordable healthcare. Critical healthcare is becoming unaffordable. Despite initiatives like insurance coverage, CGHS and Ayushman Bharat, out-of-pocket expenditure remains high. I've raised concerns about insurance claim difficulties and the high costs in corporate hospitals. We must cap medical charges, and address shortcomings in all govt schemes like Ayushman. Affordable healthcare is crucial for our nation's well-being.
