Hey dumbass have you read they are capping a contract or 5 years at 15% of cap or if you resign a player 6 years at 16%. If you don’t understand I’ll break it down it’s getting paid less. Read up bro before you speak. If your pirates didn’t suck ass and spent money. We wouldn’t be having that convo. Should reach out to your local pirates rep🤷🏼♂️
Ok so in theory a bench player doesn’t matter to an NBA team ok. Have you thought someone doesn’t want to go to the Pirates or Reds because of not just getting paid but the organization sucks. Players want to win and put themselves is the best position possible. Not every player is like Rendon. These players worked their whole life to get to where they are at for people to say ok you can only make so much. That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard. Going after the players when owners are trash including the Yankees owner. I just find it laughable how people justify what someone is worth. If your job told you we need to make a cut to your pay for the better of the business. I’m sure you will be pissed just like they are. Owners and MLB need to do better. Get rid of deferments.
Do I think they should I’m not sure because I haven’t looked into it that much to really form an opinion. I know NBA players if you aren’t top 3-5 on the team. You are getting significantly lower pay. NFL if you aren’t the top player in the position you aren’t getting paid your fair share. QB’s still command the most in salary cap.
If we look at MLB and this is my argument. I disagree with how the Dodgers handled their business. I was pissed at the Ohtani contract because that is just avoiding what the current system was in place for. But my argument is most organizations are not spending at least 50% of the revenue on the field. My hometown team the Reds could be so much better if they spent a little more on the field. Reds fans will tell you that. They have a good squad but their ownership holds them back. It’s a joke and I assume you are not happy with the pirates ownership which you have every right. I’ve been to Pittsburgh and talked to pirates fans. I’m not happy with ownership in general because these guys should be putting the best product on the field. Not using it to get richer. That’s my argument.
Guy is a pirates fan. Explains why he wants a salary cap. Omg I can’t keep any players because my ownership sucks and doesn’t care about the team. It’s all the small market fans crying. I live in Cincinnati and Reds fans understand the ownership is the one that is getting in the way of a better team. Can’t invest expect bad results.
Go look at the NBA and tell me if it’s fair share. The players are still getting shafted as the top players are getting the quote on quote fair share but the others are getting paid way less. Did you know MLBPA wanted a minimum pay of $1.5 million for players on 40 man roster. MLB wants $1 million if you have 2 years or more of service. 0-1 year of service you get $900,000. League minimum right now is $780,000. Average or below average player MLB doesn’t want to pay. MLBPA wanted to double their starting out pay and MLB wants to give them a little raise. I’m for a salary floor because most teams don’t spend 50% of their revenue on the field. Not for a salary cap because it limits the players earnings. If teams aren’t even spending 50% on the field and now they want to split the revenue with the players 50/50 how does that scream fair. You wanna know why MLB has an issue. Bad ownership is the reason why. Rich keeps getting richer.
@OMBHusky16@GwynnieTheP00@donboscomd It’s honestly cute when you KNOW someone don’t know what they are talking about. Who is supposed to get the money then?? The owners or players?? The people that make the sport should get their fair share just like the average American that makes the business run. Lmfao🤣🤣🤣
CAREER-HIGH 45 POINTS AND THE MOST IN FEVER HISTORY FOR CAITLIN CLARK‼️
She's the first player in WNBA history with 40 points and 10 assists in a game 📈
@MattNethercott_ What decision? The shit decision by Boone. If this was 2027 ight I let Cole stay but first year back from TJS. Nah you don’t have that type of leash🤬
@Big_Man_Mahan here we go again with this guy. So you make a salary cap system to force owners to spend. Wait let’s just make a salary floor and call it a day. If they supported growth every owner would have invested already. This guy is just saying everything an owner should be doing right now but it’s not happening. 50/50 revenue sharing isn’t fair when the players are the ones making it happen. If you are an owner in it to get rich and lose. You are in it for all the wrong reasons.
PS: most teams don’t spend 50% of the revenue on the field. If deferments weren’t aloud we wouldn’t be talking about this.
These 12 teams are below the salary floor threshold:
Marlins, Guardians, Rays, White Sox, Cardinals, Nationals, Pirates, Twins, Brewers, Athletics, Rockies and Reds
If they really wanted to compete they would be investing. Two teams (Brewers and Rays) on this list are successful because they run their organization well. The others have no excuses. Bad ownership is the problem.
Quit attacking the players and start holding ownership accountable. Bad leadership equals to bad results.
Ugh, people really just don't understand a cap system. Owners would pay more because they would be forced to. They support it because it's about growth. Growth in baseball is awful compared to other leagues. Players always make more in a capped system. Because it forces owners to spend.

@JDOT3223@donboscomd Besides the dodgers. Who has bought a ring in the last 10-15 years?? If your job said you make too much and they needed to bump you down in pay for others so it makes it fair for everyone. Would you be ok with that probably not.
