#ELLchat_YRDSB-Q3- Learning is a social process. When students are afforded the opportunity to interact with peers, teachers and other experts using L1 they can communicate with confidence, share ideas and explore concepts in an authentic way.
In it, a young ELL student "illustrates how engagement in learning, particularly for ELL students, is fueled as much by affect as by cognition" I strongly believe that building relationships with students is integral to their learning.
