🚨 Hamid Wali, a 36-year-old man, has been charged with raping a 16-year-old Scottish girl in a Glasgow park on Friday 26 June.

This followed a public manhunt. Initially, Scottish Police described the suspect as a “tanned European”. This description has caused outrage.

Glasgow accounts for the vast majority (often 90%+) of Scotland’s asylum seekers under the scheme, despite efforts at “full dispersal” across more Scottish councils since 2022.

Per capita, Glasgow has one of the highest concentrations in the UK

The Sun reports that 83 asylum seekers are being moved into 21 new-build homes on an estate locals believed was intended for affordable or social housing.

Britain has a housing crisis. Prices are miles ahead of wages. Waiting lists grow. Young people cannot afford to leave home.

So is this what “ending hotel use” looks like — simply moving the pressure into communities already short of homes, schools and services?
