Boxer Donjeta Sadiku won gold.

Serbia, represented by ethnic Russian boxer Kristina Kuluhova, boycotted the medal ceremony after losing to Kosovo.

During the Kosovo War, thousands of Albanians were killed, and many of their bodies were removed to hide evidence of war crimes. "No body, no crime" appears to have been the logic. Serbian witness Ivan Pajić testified that when a refrigerated truck was opened outside the Bor copper smelter in 1999, dozens of bodies fell out including the body of a little Albanian girl whose face, he said, has haunted him ever since. He alleges the bodies were taken to be burned in an attempt to destroy the evidence.

Yet Serbia continues to deny, distort and minimize these crimes. But propaganda cannot erase witness testimony, mass graves, or the truth. Justice begins with acknowledging what happened.
