BREAKING NEWS! Mitochondria has been linked to cancer! In 1955, Otto Warburg a Nobel Prize winner did a study on mitochondria attribution to cancer. He found out that mitochondria cells contribute to energy production ( ATP) were damaged they form irreversible damage!

in each cell the mitochondria undergoes a process called fission where the ATP splits into 2 cells. But, when the mitochondria is damaged the fission does not occur and it becomes cancerous. I wouldn’t vote for this Organelle if I were you!

There is a new study that has come to light saying that the Golgi apparatus, somewhat like the ‘post office’ of the cell, can have dysfunctions which can lead to some serious effects. Golgi dysfunctions can lead to neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s! #scary #yikes

Mitochondrial disease? What’s that? Let me explain. Mitochondrial disease results from failures of the mitochondrion. It occurs from a genetic mutation and has symptoms including muscle weakness, fatigue, and seizures! #yikes! It’s a disease that can never be cured #majoryikes

Who’s ready for an ER fun fact?? Nearly 50% of the total Eukaryotic Cell surface is made of the ER. We are the largest organelle in the cell.

Wondering how we go out name? The first part comes from the term Endoplasm, which is the inner part of the Cytoplasm of a cell. Reticulum actually means “a fine network”. So Endoplasmic Reticulum actually means “a fine network present in the inner part of the Cytoplasm”. #facts

As you can see from my previous tweet, without me, the proteins would not have a place to go after leaving the nucleus and would not be sent to the Golgi apparatus. #theyneedme

The nucleus creates the proteins and then sends them out though its pores to the rest of the cell. Then, the ER receives the proteins and sends them to the Golgi apparatus to be packaged, sorted, and delivered. #team player #carryingtheweight #organelleelections
