جوهر الحياة الكشفية هو رحلة تحويلية من الأنانية إلى روح العطاء، والانتقال من التساؤل عن "ما الذي يمكنني الحصول عليه" إلى تبني "ما يمكنني تقديمه". إنه فهم عميق لأن السعادة الحقيقية لا تأتي من اكتساب الذات، ولكن من العطاء للآخرين.

لقد كان انخراطي في الحياة الكشفية لمدة عقد من الزمان أساسياً في تشكيل شخصيتي. هذه الحياة غرست في داخلي إحساساً عميقاً بالمسؤولية، وتقديراً لعجائب الطبيعة، والتزاماً بالعمل الجماعي، والشجاعة لمواجهة المخاوف واحتضان المغامرة. الحياة الكشفية ليست مجرد نشاط. إنها فلسفة نابضة بالحياة تعلم المرء أن يعيش في وئام مع العالم والآخرين.

أنا سعيد لرؤية أولادي يكبرون داخل هذه المؤسسة وهم يستوعبون القيم والمبادئ التي تجعل من هذه التجربة مرحلة تبقى معنا مدى العمر. بينما نشاركهم هذه اللحظات الفريدة، نتذكّر الإرث القيّم الذي تستمرّ الكشافة في تقديمه.
إنها طريقة حياة تستحق أقصى درجات الاحترام والالتزام.

قبل تقاعدها، عملت مينيرفا شرتوني بتفانٍ في طيران الشرق الأوسط. خلال الحرب اللبنانية، حظيت شجاعتها بالإعجاب لأنها اجتازت المعابر المحفوفة بالمخاطر من منطقة إلى أخرى. في ٤ آب، أصيبت مينيرفا بجروح خطيرة من انفجار ميناء بيروت المدمّر، وأسلمت الروح بشكل مأساوي متأثرة بجراحها بعد ثمانية أيام.

في مثل هذا اليوم ومنذ سنتين، فقدنا الصديق الروائي اللامع جبّور الدويهي إثر مرضٍ عضال نال منه. سطّر جبّور بنبضه وفكره روايات رائعة أغنت المشهد الثقافي، غير أنّ راويته "مطر حزيران" ، الصادرة عام ٢٠٠٦، كانت من أجمل ما قرأت.
هذه الرواية تسرد قصة إيليا الكفوري، الثمرة الوحيدة لزواج، أتى بعد طول انتظار وبعد أن حجّ والداه وزارا جميع الأديرة والقديسين "يشحذانه". فقد إيليا والده وهو طفلٌ في مجزرة كنيسة قرية برج الهوا التي ارتُكبت عام ١٩٥٧ حين "دام إطلاق النار ما يقارب العشرين دقيقة". على أثر الحادثة وكي تحميه والدته، عضّت على جرحها وألمها وقرّرت إبعاده عن أجواء الثأر، فأرسلته إلى الولايات المتّحدة الأميركية عند أقاربه. وهو في "الغربة"، رسم قصصاً في مخيّلته اتسّمت بنقص في المعلومات. يقرّر حينها العودة من الغربة لتبدأ مغامرة البحث عن هويةٍ ضائعة وعن حقيقة ماذا حصل ،فإذا بالأخيرة تتوه بين وقائع روى فصولها، ومن منظارٍ مختلف، كل من التقى به.
وهنا بيت القصيد: الحقيقة في هذا البلد … الجميع يبحث عنها، لكن الكلّ يفصّلها كما يشاء ويرويها على سجيته، والأجيال الشابة تحفظ ما يخبرونها.
حمى الله هذا الوطن… على أمل أن تصبح الحقيقة واحدة مقدّسة تجمعنا كلّنا مهما اختلفنا.
