i'm gonna shut up about the king one day but. i think one of the reasons why i want him to have at least some kind of redemption is because, um. he's traditionally speaking not good-looking? he's fat and scary and has big creepy teeth and is kinda gross i guess?

@theslowesthnery But I think what we were given makes the King anger quite understandable. I mean, Ralsei's line about their purpose being to serve Lightners is... kinda messed up, isn't it? Is that really ALL the Darkners are for? And then they lost that with no explanation?

@theslowesthnery Good thread. I think it's easy to be blinded by our perspective. The player's meant to be endeared to Lancer. Then the King threatens Lancer, who trusted him, so the immediate response is "this guy is 100% garbage".
