@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow That’s a lot of questions. It feels to me like you were raging, not me. I’m not asking questions of you. I’m just trying to explain a few facts.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow In addition to which, you clearly haven’t researched the Finland model in detail or looked at its recent history. It seems to me like you were talking on a subject that you know little to nothing about.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow The minute you band the 95% together, you lose all sense of reason. There are some excellent state schools. To pretend otherwise, is inauthentic.
You cannot compare this country to Finland. Population, demographic et cetera make it completely implausible to draw comparison.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow I didn’t say that your children attending an independent sch made you a snob.
I went to an ind sch, as does my child.
It was the banding of 95% of people into a ‘less than’ category that made you sound ‘snobby’.
You are blinkered.
You see what you want to see.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow I just don’t get why you mention ethnicity. My child’s school is really diverse with respect to heritage. It seems that you are set on sticking people into categories. For example the 95% of children in SS are all the same to you. It’s blinkered.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow Blinkered? How so?
Stating how I see a situation doesn’t make me condescending.
You feeling that it does, says more about you, than me. 😀
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow I think you need to look harder at what you are saying. You are casting aspersions about children who attend state schs. You come off as someone who feels superior. Banging on about how you educated your kids. There are ‘snobs’ in all walks of life.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow A snob can come from any background. It’s not where you are from, but who you are that counts. Your posts give you away.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow Wrong. Plenty of people wig inn the 95% could afford it. They choose not to. You have a blinkered view, & you sound like a bit of a snob.
@petepedwards@EducationNotTax@CF_Farrow No Govt should tax education.
The tax, plus other costs the Govt added will have been enough to finish some schools.
It is their aim.
That is what they want.
This Fabian Society that we have in charge is all about slowly eroding & destroying our choices
@mccourt_mccourt@StronsayConsult@Storm80666@bphillipsonMP What a daft question. Nobody would be in favour of increasing child poverty. Taxing ind ed will not help child poverty. What it will do is cause child immiseration - as you support the tax, and support displaying children, you also support child immiseration.
@mccourt_mccourt@Storm80666 Believe me the current PM’s kids have not had a bad education. State schs are all different. Not all can access the very best state schs as they are priced out of them by property value. Make state fair, before coming after Ind schs.
@mccourt_mccourt Daft. Daft. Daft.
There are thousands of wealthy families using state schs.
There are many amazing state schs.
If I used the nearest state sch, it would see zero improvement as it’s already good.
It would cost the Govt £££ though, & I’d have spare £££ for a tutor or two. 🤷🏻♀️
@TorstenBell It feels to me like your Govt have their priorities all wrong.
This is another example of idiots thinking they are doing a good job.
It’s farcical. More feathering your own nests.
It might help people like you, but will make little difference to those really struggling.
