Rowan Chalmers (MNSW (Hons) Learning Disabilities Nursing & Social Work) was shortlisted for Learning Disability Nurse of the Year at the Student Nusing Times Awards.
@rowan_chalmers I remember my interview too for @edgehill I thought I wasn’t ready!?!? But I realised I wasn’t alone on the journey I wanted to take, and in the years after my graduation and a few other times of wearing a gown and teaching I knew “I” was always ready! I just needed to believe.
@JimmyJimrid I remember my interview feeling like this place was too fancy for me and that I didn't stand a chance! It's strange to think this is both the beginning and the end 🫣
@rowan_chalmers I doubt that very much, a career is a journey. Enjoy each step, marvel at the views, stop sometimes and take a breath, but LIVE everyday!

When asked at a recent interview about my proudest moment I reflected on the last 12 months while I am very thankful for all the opportunities I have been given. I feel proud to be part of the people to challenge the current pedagogy that results in health inequalities for PWLD!
