A US maritime training vessel which was supposed to bring 500 cadets to Belfast this week has cancelled because of last week’s violence & will instead dock in Southampton. The decision was taken at the peak of the trouble.
Mr. President, completely agree about having a lot of fun over these next seven months.
But nitpicking? Some of your advisors are telling you to support things like:
- Using billions of taxpayer dollars to compensate convicted felons and thugs who attacked police. (Ed Martin)
- Pushing 50-year mortgages and Elizabeth Warren's housing bill over sound conservative housing policy. (Bill Pulte)
- Using taxpayer money to transform publicly traded companies into state-owned enterprises. (Howard Lutnick)
- Firing our very best generals and not holding Putin accountable for his systematic kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder of Ukrainian civilians. (Pete Hegseth)
If opposing these things makes me a RINO, then I gladly accept that nickname.
We need Republicans to do well in November, but the stupid stuff is killing our chances!
The BBC has officially filed a motion to dismiss Donald Trump‘s $10 billion defamation lawsuit over the editing of his Jan. 6, 2021 speech in a “Panorama” documentary.
“We have said throughout we will robustly defend the case against us,” a BBC spokesperson said on Monday. “Put simply — the documentary was never aired in Florida — or the U.S. It wasn’t available to watch in the U.S. on iPlayer, online or any other streaming platforms including BritBox and BBC Select. We have therefore challenged jurisdiction of the Florida court and filed a motion to dismiss the President’s claim.”

France is committed to the sovereignty and independence of nations, in Europe and elsewhere. This guides our choices. It underpins our commitment to the United Nations and to its Charter.
It is on this basis that we support, and will continue to support Ukraine and that we have built a coalition of the willing for a robust and lasting peace, to defend these principles and our security.
It is also on this basis that we decided to take part in the exercise organized by Denmark in Greenland. We fully assume this decision, because security in the Arctic and at the outer edges of our Europe is at stake.
No intimidation or threat will influence us—neither in Ukraine, nor in Greenland, nor anywhere else in the world when we are confronted with such situations.
Tariff threats are unacceptable and have no place in this context. Europeans will respond in a united and coordinated manner should they be confirmed. We will ensure that European sovereignty is upheld.
It is in this spirit that I will engage with our European partners.
This thread is must read. The conclusion is simultaneously eye- popping and utterly predictable. The ‘peace plan’ for Ukraine delivered by the White House seems to have been translated from Russian into English. In other words it’s the Kremlin plan that Trump seems to be passing off as American, and is telling Ukraine it must accept
Trump literally had uniformed active duty soldiers on their hands and knees rolling out the red carpet for a genocidal dictator who has killed millions of people around the world the last 26 years.
America has fallen.
The police are asking local Cotswolds residents for their social media handles to be passed onto to JD Vance's security detail. Glad to hear some people refused. Honestly the nerve of it, especially for the man who criticised Europe for censorship

“He and his administration are amateurs, inept and in over their head. They are entertainers and grifters, shock jocks and freaks. Whatever talents they may possess, mastery of governing is not one of them."

Again, it's hard to explain this corner of the world to people that haven't been. This photo shows the coast, the town and the course perfectly.

It's impossible to simultaneously lobby for increased immigration while decrying the effect of more foreigners — but that’s what the DUP's been doing, pushing on behalf of big business for more cheap labour from abroad while criticising what that means.

Putin hasn’t taken Ukraine because he can’t. Because of Ukrainian courage & resilience. To suggest “not taking all of Ukraine” is a Russian concession is ludicrous and morally corrupt.
