Delighted to say that the schedule for Oxford's 2024 'Gesture' conference @StJohnsOx is now up online. 25 - 27th Jan. And tickets can now be purchased! https://t.co/RaubymoTg4
It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.
I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.
But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.
I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.
"Former British and French diplomats urge action over Israel’s ‘erasure’ of Palestine. In letter to Macron and Burnham, more than 100 senior figures accuse Israel of ethnic cleansing and call for measures including trade ban"

God does not bless any conflict. Anyone who is a disciple of Christ, the Prince of Peace, is never on the side of those who once wielded the sword and today drop bombs. Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, which comes only from the patient promotion of coexistence and dialogue among peoples.
This should be evidence in a war crimes trial
A British spy plane circles Khan Younis—the major area of fighting in Gaza at time—for 2 hours on 28 July 2025
We learnt later that intel gathered was being sent to the Israeli military in real-time
Starmer needs to be indicted
The @BBCNews has turned into an active & unrelenting propagandist for Netanyahu’s expansionist wars for a Greater Israel. They've abandoned any pretence of analysis & just read out IDF press releases as if they are objective truth. They've turned into Orwell’s Ministry of Truth
No modern pope has sustained a campaign of this scope against an active American military operation.
In twenty-five days, the U.S.-born Pope Leo XIV has told Christian soldiers to promote peace, ordered Catholic politicians who perpetuate war to go to confession, called for a permanent ban on aerial bombing, and demanded a ceasefire — repeatedly, publicly, and without apology. https://t.co/Bjf266Cbys
80+ MEMORIALS OF ACADEMICS KILLED IN GAZA
Today a colleague drew my attention to a recently published website memorialising (in English) over 80 Gazan academics who were murdered by Israel since October 2023. These were all permanent faculty members of Univesities in Gaza.

Each academic has a significant biography attached, and a detailed account of the circumstances of their killing.
All the memorials are downloadable as a book, which can be shared as a PDF. Each victim also has an individual web page whose URL can be shared.
The work to put this together was done by 5 academics, mainly based in the USA.
Many of those killed were also doctors, working right up until their death or capture in hopsitals under bombardment to save lives of those injured under Israeli bombardment, with no thought for their own safety. One such was Dr. Adnan al-Bursh (‘Adnān al-Bursh) (عدنان أحمد البرش) was a celebrated Palestinian orthopedic surgeon, head of the orthopedics department at al-Shifa Medical Complex, who was captured by Israeli forces, held for 4 months in Israeli prisons, where he died under circumstances widely believed to involve torture and mistreatment. His body remains withheld by Israeli authorities, a continued source of anguish for his family.
Every person killed violently deserves such a memorial, to be circulated widely around the world, as a testament to their lives, and as a reminder to the killers that justice will continue to be sought for each victim, however long it takes.
Francesca Albanese has called on the ICC to pursue arrest warrants for three senior Israeli ministers she accuses of being responsible for the “systematic torture” of Palestinians

For over four days, @X and @elonmusk have allowed a Zionist-Ukrainian group to use X to raise a million dollars to kidnap me. It, of course, clearly implies torture and murder. Yet not a single Western official, journalist, or media outlet will condemn it, let alone investigate.
@FranceskAlbs denounces the torture of Palestinians and highlights the suffering they are subjected to. She says it extends beyond Israeli prison walls. “There is no refuge, no safe place to exist”
