Is it normal to feel absolutely drained around this term? I had a lot of external issues this time last year so put it down to that but I feel like I'm so unmotivated and not giving my class what they need 😭

Strike action in schools isn't going to have any real long-term impact on a child. But endless funding cuts, a retention crisis caused by pay & conditions, collapsing staff morale & the unnecessary pressures created by Ofsted & excessive accountability, yeah, I think that might.

Not me saving all of the nativity songs by their initials with my computer plugged in for all of KS2 to see then typing the initials for That's What The Angel Said.... Very close to an alert going out for inappropriate language 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Anyone else love buying books for their classroom??🥺🥺 I think the next best feeling is when a child picks up a book you've read and we can have a natter about it 🥰

[Miss Rowell @rowell_miss]

@MissFearnley @StaceySolomon I'm trying to get back into reading too, I find it so hard to put the time aside to start a new book but once I've started it, it's difficult to do anything else 😅 good luck!!

@MissScorer I've only read the first one! It is a current favourite but I don't know if it'll be too tricky to write about for the start of the year!

[Miss Rowell @rowell_miss]

Wanting to do a writing activity at the start of the year with my Y3s where the children write sentences to illustrations (focusing on what a sentence needs, different word classes and their purpose) but which picture book? 🤔 #edutwitter

Uncanny resemblance

[Miss Rowell @rowell_miss]

Went on a school trip today about Ancient Egypt and I couldn't have been prouder of the children at how much they have learnt about the topic! Just about every question they were asked they could answer using specific vocab 🥺❤️
