The GBP reached the lowest level against the USD, touching $1.04 earlier today (27% below last year's peak). One thing to remember: The UK’s total trade deficit for goods and services, excl. precious metals, widened by £2.0bn to £27.9bn in Q2 2022, which is the largest on record.

Some interesting macro observations and clear indicators of the current state of our economy: First, the euro is now near parity to the USD (1.01 USD/EUR), the first time it has sunk to that level since 2002, in the early years of the euro’s existence
